Had to vent a little...there's just some stuff about how Vegas does some of its business practices that completely befuddles me...like the MGM PGP, Wynn's new attitude towards gamblers, and Cosmo's nickel and diming. Just not good business sense...

I'm for brevity, but well said!

However, your perspective is so much different than a National player's.

I was generally meaning where else is there to go on the Strip - b/c the regional properties sure aren't the answer.

Since you gave your .02 cents, here are mine:

Cosmo expects too much and gives to little. I realize others feel differently. But I'm just not into hipsters. I play well above average and feel like I'm ignored and have to plead for anything above their monthly mailer. Its just not that special to me. Plus, it has PT's bodily fluids and pubes all over it.
MGM Grand - love the Mansion and my host. Don't care for anything else about the place. Well, maybe L'Atelier.
MB - their vista and presidential suites are quite nice and can come with butler service. Casino is just dead though. Love the spa. Dining is above average. Fun pool if with a group. Plus pool casino if you get the itch.
Aria - I really like it and their rooms, beds, and swankiness of their casino. Pool isn't special.
Bellagio - a classic, but her day has passed. Just too crowded and not as special as she used to be. Good spa and restaurants. Love the round Lakeside rooms though. Best view in Vegas.
    Lux/Ex/MC/NY - Not on Shifter's life.
CET - hate everything about it and its affiliates.
Mirage - put her out to pasture. Ok, the Villas and Lanai rooms are nice, but I'm not giving anymore.
    TI -whatever.
Wynn/Encore - A class act. I haven't spent but a couple of trips there. Been treated fairly. Want to spend more time there but fearful I've been treated so well to lure me in and then I will have to start hearing about all the new rules and reduced comps like so many others on here have complained of.
V/P - I just don't know enough. And don't like Adelson. They do have a great bunch of restaurants I would like to try and/or revisit.
GN - I will add her. I stayed in their 2 story room several years ago and had an eager young host who is now at SLS and serves others on here. Anyway, had a good trip and think Vic & Anthony's is on par with any strip steak house. However, they have changed management twice now since then and are tight and the place seems shittier.

Thanks Tellafriend, great points on each property.

I was mostly referring to the attitude of the casino operations in terms of opening up new tables, keeping private tables staffed 24hours, the fixation on limits , etc...

Just seems that Vegas is afraid of losing money while across the world under the same ownership they are much more aggressive...just weird to me...

I hope that this beach/lagoon does not attract the club crowd. That's one of the reasons why I prefer the Wynn over Cosmo. I've never been a party girl. I just like to drink well, eat well and talk to people.

I couldn't agree more. Vegas just doesn't make sense anymore. But according to a mutual host we both know, they are willing to run off folks like me and apparently you to cater to the biggest losers and just have the rest of us in regular rooms asking for buffets. I get no discount at Cosmo. Now have to hit $100k to get 5% at MGM. Airfare used to be cash upfront. Now I only get it from certain hosts in the form of freeplay. Promo chips are dead. I used to get 5% coming in and 3% for paying w/n 30 days and cash airfare. I had over $40k in express comps, then I got word they were going to be taken, so I took home a winery. But shit, its their fucking program and they keep trying to nickel and dime me when I'm spending my money on a negative expectation game. All in all it means I will spend more time at the beach and less in the desert. Probably for the best.

Last point - if these executives are so smart, why haven't their stocks done shit? The casinos are crowded still, people are spending money on lots of booze and games, paying for rooms and food, yet after depreciation they (Wynn excluded) don't earn shit.

That's why I say it is arbitrary. Pphold gets discounts as a national player at Cosmo at 10% for 10k loss and he's a much smaller player than you. I just don't like a system where a certain executive can decide to give you a certain rate based on how much he/she likes you...so we have to kiss executives asses now even on vacation? That's just too much effort for gambling lol...

Because they have super mega perks on the company dime...

All the executives that play shadow creek, Wynn living on the property, all that stuff costs tons of money....

On a lower but long term visitor level that appears overwhelmingly true to me also.
And the new Wynn project really emphasizes your take Nate.
