The entrance fee, I can't tell if they're joking, because it's preposterous ... but, damn, those renderings do look awfully good. If this were done now, I could probably have talked Mrs. Ocean into a babymoon in Vegas!

No worries, I wasn't dissing you. Plenty of big players at casinos without direct course ties tee it up in Vegas. Plenty of MGM players don't tee it up exclusive at Shadow. Etc. It's just, again, what set WGC apart is proximity. It doesn't suck being driven via Maybach out to Shadow or Cascata, but it's still an offsite excursion.

    The telling quote

"The people are gonna be here,” Wynn said. “I don’t give a damn if they put a nickel in a slot machine. I want them to pay my admission, I want them to stay in my rooms — I want them to drink my booze and eat our food.”

    There you have it folks.

Seems to me he doesn't care that much about people who put waaaaay more than nickels in his machines.
Like multi-multi dime table bets too.

20-50 bucks just to enter a glorified beach bar? Hey, he's Steve Wynn and I'm some doofus on the internets but I think he's nuts. 2 billion to build. That's a lot of overpriced bud lime and shitty premade frozen drinks.

This is a bad idea. They haven't even felt the affect of Resorts World which is going to take the air out of the room down there when (if) its opened. If I want to see people skiing on a lake, I will got to Florida, not Vegas. But what do I know, the stock went up 10% today.

The world is a big place. Since you asked so clearly I'm going to give a detailed answer...lol.

Casinos in Asia are popping up like indian casinos in the US. For Vegas (really far trek for me), I would stay at Cosmo because they are investing in High roller action at least unlike everybody else.

Vegas pros and cons from natedog's perspective

    Pros

    1. Better discounts and full comps
    2. Lots of food choices on and off the strip
    3. Proximity to a lot of business activities (LA, Bay Area)
    4. Ease of getting people to have meetings there (nobody ever refused flying in and meeting me in Vegas, I've never tried Seattle or Houston but I assume people would not like to come; would be pure business)
    5. Great golf choices
    6. Shopping is relatively cheap and plentiful; catering to all needs
    7. Lots of other entertainment choices like big comfy empty movie theatres
    8. Plenty of pros for quick "changes of luck" scenarios

    Cons

    1. Low limits, and always being dicks about negotiating limits. Hello, you opened a multi billion dollar casino; one measly little player won't affect your bottom line that much...sometimes you have to let the players win big so they come back dumbass.

    2. Wtf is with the nickeling and diming of things. If doing full comp just take off the in room movies or dry cleaning. Don't have me tell you you forgot EVERY single time.

    3. A lot of arbitrariness. Need to get approval for this bottle of wine, that cabana, that reserved table, what your rating is...what a pain in the ass for people to have to worry about their rating while on vacation...or win/loss for the discounts...

Most of the rest of the world pros and cons

    Pros

    1. The comp system uses the rolling system. Cash back on games you play so you know the percentages ahead of time. You actually sign an agreement before playing. With this system there's no tracking of "average bet" since all your wins you get a different kind of chip. So you get exactly what's coming to you agreed upon before hand. One big benefit is no time requirement on play. You hit it big, take off...

    2. Just self comp with you cash back money so there's no begging involved...you are the guest and should never have to beg for comps. Also if you didn't play then you SHOULD pay for your own shit like all the non gambling tourists.

    3. No W2Gs, what a waste of time in bureaucracy....most players have more losses than winnings anyways. They should just tax the multi million dollar jackpots in the US.

    4. Super high limits, no way I'm going to ever get to betting 500k or 750k a hand....and even if I did I would be winning so much I did not care. Roulette at 5k Max is awesome...especially you get a ton of cash back on that. Every 100k hit on roulette you are getting back 1k, which is not bad for single zero. For baccarat it is even more impressive on the cash back, close to 1% is a lot shaved off the odds. Remember this is for winning bets only.

    5. Dealers and pit bosses. Super friendly and service orientated in the personal high limit room. You get your own table of roulette, craps, 2 BAC tables ( or whatever combination you want). Non of this having only two roulette tables and both reserved bullshit. All fully staffed so you can play however long or short that you want. In the US they keep hounding you on whether you will play more that day so they can send a dealer home and not pay him his extra board wage. Considering how much money you are making the casino this is a service issue and they should staff all games fully.

    6. No big brother on money stuff. Nobody's giving you grief on money wired in and out, using your own front money, etc...

    7. More family activities like Universal Studios and dolphin habitats next to the casino...pros for some cons for others

    8. Large denomination bills. Carrying cash is easy when the largest bill is equivalent to about 650 USD.

    Cons

    1. Bad food choices...the restaurants are ok, but since they are not fed by the comp dollars like in Vegas, they actually have to semi survive on their own, so relatively reasonable priced and nothing super fancy. I do a lot of room service.

    2. Language barriers. It is difficult to understand the Singlish and Indian accents of some dealers on the main floor; but private rooms are staffed exclusively with the race, and sex of dealers that you want so not a problem. Big help being able to speak Mandarin Chinese in this part of the world.

    3. Hit or miss on the pros. Since there's that TER review site in the US, you are almost guaranteed to be 95% satisfied. No such thing in Asia so you usually have to "know" certain people.

    4. Lack of casino choices. For Singapore there are only two choices. Macau has about 4-5 major casino groups but they are all similar....come to think of it Vegas has become the same...but there's always a Cosmo or SLS or locals in Vegas...you do not want to go to a local in Macau.

    5. Expensive and less quality rooms in Singapore. They have nice and cheap villas in Macau, running about 1k a day. But in Singapore you are looking at regular rooms starting at 350 a day. The super nice rooms are about 3-5k a day and that can really add up....since it is not comped sometimes I can't bring myself to pay this kind of money once you are used to Vegas....no problem betting multiples of that in one hand, but have me pay? No way lol...

Tired of typing on the phone....
