Are all the blackjack tables in Macau using European rules? From what I understand the HA is the same as American rules?

The math says that European rules are worse, probably because of the fact that they take all splits and doubles when they draw an ace on a ten card; unlike US where they check the hole card.

All that I saw in Macau were Euro BJ. Whether the odds are the same or worse (and I'm convinced they are worse), it's psychologically worse for me. I'm always trying to figure out how the next card I draw will affect what the dealer draws for their hole card (2nd card). I tried to still follow basic strategy, but you can't help but play mind games with yourself.

Gambling is illegal in Japan, but they get around that by using these machines that spit out these little steel balls that are shown in the second video in the basket on the floor. My understanding is that you can redeem the steel balls for cash. I'm sure Nate and rycelover know more about Pachinko than I do and can correct me if I am wrong

Isn't it something like you can exchange the balls for prizes. And then you go around the corner to an "unrelated" shop and then sell the prize for cash.

This was fun to read-as I wasnt here to follow along. Wife and I have visted different parts of Asia but never have gambled over there. We have both played Euro-Blackjack though in Germany & found the house edge to be slightly higher and in addition to the qualms you mentioned I did not like the double down/spilt rules.
