I tip $5/day on the last day. I guess I should tip per day in case there are different people. Makes you wonder if maybe for housekeeping that Sunday would be the premium shift.

Not sure how many here follow poker closely, but there was a video of Barry Greenstein telling the story of the Pokerstars Caribbean tournament where he was with Phil Ivey. I would link it but I broke my headphones at work and cant check which one it was. Basically they had either asked for something extra early in the trip (towels?), or it was the first bellman. Ivey only had $100s and tipped the guy one. Word spread among the staff like wildfire, to the point that they eventually had to take the phone off the hook. They had people knocking on the door and calling about every hour asking if they needed anything.

I agree. Also putting myself in their shoes if the room is an absolute mess like after a PT party, and there's no tip, I would find ways to get tiny revenge....lol

I imagine after your parties it is nearly equivalent to cleaning a frat house after a party.

Good analogy. With all the people going in and out of there all day, I'm sure it is quite the mess. Fluids everywhere!

I am weird when it comes to tipping housekeeping (and weird in many other ways but that is a different discussion for a different day). Meaning, I will tip if it is convenient for me. At a restaurant or bar it is easy, just add it to the CC receipt or use the cash change they give you. With housekeeping it really just depends on what denominations of bills I have on me when I check out. If i have stayed for one night in a hotel and it was just me and I only have a $20? No i won't tip them. If I have cash that makes sense to leave as a tip I will do it but I won't go down to the front desk (or in any way out of my way) to ask for change just so I can leave a tip (really just because I am lazy). But if i stay for a few days I will usually leave a $20 but i have no formula for what to tip as some do.

Maybe I'm being cheap, not sure, but I tip 2 or 3 everyday., That's it, and I feel it's plenty. I actually feel better with a clean room so I keep it straight, not messy at all.

Anyone else have the issue when a tip left is not taken? I have even left it on pillow and had it moved.

I just started leaving little thank you notes with $ on top

I only read the first page of replies and chocked on my rum at Nates reply.

Anyway; we ask for extra towels & hyperallergentic pillows at the begining of our stay and tip the person(s) whom bring them. $20.

Our DND sign stays on for our entire stay if 4 days and under. We leave $50-$100 at check out on the desk or nightstand.

Of over 4 days, we remove the DND for HK every other day, leaving $25 for the day of cleaning then $40 on the desk at checkout.

I dont know why. Youd need to ask my wife.
