Whoops. Wrong choice of words. Run around to collect checks for winnings. For losses I just wire money the next day or two.

And yes Nate, you're right, less than a single hand for difference in comps. Play where you're winning! And yes, I have been stung where I get the royal shaft on shitty loss rebates, but then again when I think it's money I've already lost it is a bit more palatable.

I attempt to concentrate my play where I stay, which has usually been MGM properties. My BR ranges around 5K+. The comps have been decent enough to motivate me to return regularly. My only CET stay was the result of a hit and run at PH my last trip. It was enough to get me on CET's radar and I booked Bally's Jubilee Strip View last Oct. My attempts to play at Bally's were frustrating and futile. The casino sucked nuts to me and I hopped around. Fortunately, Cosmo fared much better and now I'll do some stay/play there and bask in some Cosmo love. I still favor MGM and will split time there, MB and El Cortez in April. I took the long way around just to say it doesn't always work out to play where I stay, and that's okay.

I try and play where I stay, the biggest problem I have though, is at my level, I usually split up my stay between 2 properties, in order to try and maximize my meager comps. It tends to work out alright and during a trip if I'm going to play elsewhere, I try to focus my play there as well, in order to prep options for other offers on future trips.

Splitting play between properties is fine but just be careful to not burn your bridges. Running up bills on a host and not giving them play will hurt your future offerings. I also have found that being honest with a host generally works out well. If you are going to play less let them know. This really only applies if they are extending upfront comps.

Absolutely! I think you would be nutts not to play where you stay. I mean little money and passing through is fine but you are going to lose so why not get something for it? For most of us the comps arent the same as a single hand of any given game. I can live with the remark stay where you win but that really is a fallacy. You can win anywhere. Lose anywhere. The cards don't know it's you. The dice don't have eyes. (Sometimes it sure seems they do doesn't it)...
So like you chess I'm only playing where I stay. One exception. My host at aria tells me to give them action if I'm coming over to play shadow and not staying there. I still get a room for the night to play golf but never even see the room. So i gladly give him an hour or two. No way in paying 2k for 4 of us! Pretty stupid because I can lose a lot more at the table in 2 hours. What a degen.
