I agree, especially with the cutbacks. Have you seen the size of their shampoo bottles lately? Minuscule.

Packer, tell me that you won't be considering other places if they remove the golf course. Already in the works.

Even my hosts are leaving in droves, three I know personally have jumped to Cosmo already.

Just something going on at the Wynn that is on a downward trend...

I know there has been an exodus on employees. Here is the inside news...... They are selling.. Oh, no golf course, still like the Wynn but way more at aria or mansion with shifter! Lol

I'm a bit late to this thread and all the follow ups but will throw my $.02.

I have yet to post a TR (either here or at another site) from my January trip, but a short version is that my host at Cosmo set me and the Mrs up in a fountain view terrace studio (which we are fine with) and gave me two additional terrace studios for my friends. My wife and her sister did spa/salon things; we had a few nice meals on property and I played at ~$100 avg. Friends were over-the-top impressed with the rooms I was able to get for them. At the end of it all our rooms were covered and my host took off an additional $200, which didn't come close to covering the accrued room charges. I'm fine paying it out of pocket - we all had a ton of fun and had great meals and experiences that we will laugh about for many years.

I'll continue to play at the level where I'm comfortable, take what Cosmo gives me, and pay for what I need to beyond what my host will cover. When it all ceases being fun I'll reevaluate.

Having said that, if I were in town and meeting up with a bunch of "internet friends" who wanted to play at SLS, Wynn or Aria, then, sure, I'd go along for the fun ride; but since I like my home base I'm concentrating my play there.

"Desert Bamboo"? Isn't that an oxymoron??

Some of you guys are real heavy hitters. If you frequent a high limit room, definitely in the 1% of Vegas gamblers. I can't imagine why any of you would habitually play serious money at a place you didn't care to gamble at. Or stay in a place you dont care for.

Interesting thread. Until two years ago, I was one of those clueless gamblers who had no idea how Vegas worked. Luckily for me, my Caesars host was my first host back at the horseshoe Hammond in Indiana when I was a green chip player. Followed him to Vegas and over the years developed a relationship more than just host/client.

He always treated me well and comped anything I asked for. It wasn't until I ran across the online forums that I realized I was not getting the most I could. Learned about theo, hard comps, and loss rebates. I guess since I consistently used about less than 10% of my available comps, I got a great program as a domestic player. As such I was one of those stay and play player just because everything was so convenient. It wasn't a bad thing.

Armed with new knowledge I started to reach back out to other properties and "programs" I found that it was hard for me to get places that would match Caesars. However I met a lot of new people, learned a few more games than just blackjack and started having a lot of fun. It did irk me a little that certain places do less than others, but I realized that I don't even spend 1/5th of my available comps anyway.

Now I could care less where I play. If someone is in town and I have a line there, I'll come over to play. I will also play my regular style. Why change? I don't care about theo or hours. Just have fun.

Last trip I played at three casinos. Ended up staying at the one casino that I said I wouldn't give play at because they were jacking my program, ahem Cosmo. Hit and run Wynn and Caesars for a good amount. Ironically I hit Cosmo the hardest with my smallest line there and even ended up winning a car from them.

I've learned just have fun wherever. Now the only bad part about playing at several properties is on the last day spending hours running from casino to casino to settle up, but on winning trips, I don't mind.

For me, more than the property, it's the people that will influence where I play. Shifter was the one who popped my bac cherry a year back, but he only plays at the MGM mansions. Unfortunately that's the one property that I hesitate to play at because I get repeatedly bent over at the tables for a gangbang. I hate sitting at the "losers" table for all their tournaments.

Anyway, sorry for the babbling. Had a little too much soju for dinner. I wonder if Shifter's palette can handle that fine liquor.

Any particular reason you run around and settle up prior to leaving instead of just waiting till they bill you and pay within 30 days? Just curious.

You are absolutely correct sailboat just play where you win. The difference is programs is less than a hand. I only really care the most about lost rebates though, because that can really add up...
