That's going to be a nightmare of fraudulent claims, denials of claims by CET, followed by "I'm telling ALL of my friends to never play here again", followed by "Go ahead and tell both of them!"

Back in now. Got back here at 8am to get ready to go to Laughlin and no issues. However just got back from the day. No letter from management, no message from the host, no phone message apologising. Zilch, nada, bit fat zero nothing from anyone. Quite disgusted.

This sounds fishy. How do you "accidentally" drill through both power cables without being electrocuted? What's powering the drill?

Also, before any drilling takes place anywhere you always have to do a check with the city for the locations of gas and power lines, so the company doing the drilling would have known exactly where the lines were, yet drilled through them anyway? Lots of negligence there. Maybe the lawyers here on the board could give some insight on that?

Yep, totally agree. Made no sense to me that cutting the main cable during construction should have cut the emergency generator too. No one in their right mind should have the two attached to the same supply surely? I'm sure there's a lot more to come out. There were lots of fire engines on standby and police cars everywhere. Saw a couple of people loaded into ambulances. Anyway I've put it all in writing and am going to go to diamond lounge later to print it out and find out who it needs to be addressed to.

Update. They are giving $200 comps as compensation. However, no one told us and we heard from someone else. Still quite a few angry people here.

My understanding is that they didn't just tell everyone to get out of the casino. Supposedly they went through and grabbed every slot machine player's phone number and wrote down their machine number along with it so that they could eventually give them their money.

Huge mess though, especially since most of the city was already sold out due to SEMA which has 160,000 attendees. I wonder if all 3,000 people actually got into an alternative hotel for the night....at some point there just aren't anymore rooms.

Some were told to fend for themselves from what I heard. I was lucky and they gave me a room at Wynn as I was visibly traumatised and very angry. Most people I spoke to were going to Excalibur. It was an unbelievable situation and for sure they concentrated on slots rather than the safety of people attempting to get out in pitch darkness. A total clusterfuck as you guys would say.

Anyone have an email for the CEO at Bally's (David Hoeomeyar?).I have one for Mark Frissora CEO at CET if it works.

I just cannot wait to leave today.

When I got my reward credits of $200 I asked about what if I couldn't use it. Use it within six months or lose it. I asked about freeplay and the said come back in 15 minutes after the points have liaded and it can be converted to $150 slot play. I went back and was told that was wrong and it was $110. Total mess. Will never stay there again.

Still no apology. Maybe that admits liability!

Thanks for listening everyone to my tale of woe. I haven't hardly slept in two as all I can think of is what if. At the time we didn't know if that 'what if' was a worst case scenario. We knew very little at the time of negotiating those stairs in the pitch dark and no staff anywhere. Hindsight is great and I'm sure some of you may think I'm going over the top but if you were there it is totally different. Moving to my timeshare at Flamingo soon so hopefully this will be a distant memory soon. They reimbursed taxi fare to and from Wynn but refused to cover the tip.

I saw it happen during my inspection days. Utilities were clearly marked and because of the importance of the building, checked and double checked. The contractor was installing a new fence line and using a large power auger mounted on the back of the truck. He put it right square into the middle of the main power line, despite utility markings flagged AND painted. The guy was sort of green when I arrived on the scene. I had to fill out a ton of paper work. I honestly can't remember if the fencing contractor was fined, but we did have to get yet another emergency high voltage contractor to come in and repair the damage, due to the importance of this particular building.

And you wonder where your tax dollars go?

That must have been awful Corrine. Hopefully your stay will get better and you will have some great wins/stories to tell.

Twice in the last few years some dumb**ss has cut the one fiber optic line in our town. It is a small town and apparently this one line does everything for phones and internet. Both times HEB, our biggest grocer, and Walmart -- among others lost the ability to check any one out at the registers. The whole town of about 10,000 had no internet access and I think it affected some of the cell phone service too. -- I'm not sure why but AT&T had no service but Sprint did. None of the land lines worked.
