OK, maybe a specific recommendation from me for a change to some of the newbies, how's that for novel?

Costco, Trader Joe's, BevMo, Total Wine, whatever you have -- look for Rhone wines. Forget Hermitage etc. up north and Chateauneuf down south, and grab and try Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Villages AOC wines. (I am talking reds here.) These blends (Grenache heavy in the south) are easily drinkable and great wines for the coin. If you want to up the $$$ a bit without getting cornholed look to Vacqueyras AOC and Gigondas AOC wines.

Stolpman Carbonic Sangio, for a fun spin on things (think Beaujolais Nouveau but not Gamay, of course):

Ok. This post has a couple purposes. I've never used tapatalk and I'm testing so I can post a live trip report.

Also I stopped and picked up a bottle of wine on the way home based on Kens post. I really know nothing about wine other than I like red more than white. I don't even know if this is the wine he recommended haha.

Feel free to be as helpful or dickish as you like. I have a thick skin and will appreciate any help I can get. I hope some of you more experienced drinkers might guide me in my wine journey based on my likes and dislikes.

This bottle is not bad, but I probably won't buy it again. It's a little too acidic than I'd like. It also has a funk to it I can't really pinpoint. I do like how light the wine tastes, and there is a fruit flavor to the finish I really don't know what it is but is pleasant. In summary based on my taste. Not bad not great.

:wineglass: What would you wine gurus suggest for someone who drinks white wines (mainly dry to very dry Chardonnays) to expand my wine horizons?

Start with Pinot Noir, which is a lighter red, before moving on to heavier reds.
