Lots of Chards up at our golf trip.
My brother and his friend had the cases. Yes cases. 4 guys numerous meals.
In my befuddled memory banks I recall the 2007 Shibumi Knoll Buena Tierra along with some more recent SK. My brother was good friends with Don Ross.
There were flights of 2009-2011-2012 Littorai Charles Heitz and another of 2011-2012 Kistler Stone Flat and a 2010 Aubert Lauren, all consumed youngest to oldest.
Several Pinots, the 2013 Martinelli Sonoma Coast was new to me and a pleasant surprise.
A few others I can't recall for some reason.
    The Aubert was my favorite.
Can't wait to see my bro again up in S.F. in September.

I am definitely not a wine connoisseur, however my local Liqueur Store continues to send me e-mails in hopes that I have the ambition. Anyway, what about this latest offering. It's sooo cheap, but does cheap equal stay the hell away? or maybe I should purchase? The X's block out the store name and the state where I am located:

This is a fantastic offering that needs no introduction, the price is right, the professional review is glowing, but most importantly the wine in the bottle is outstanding. The Wine Team at XXXX’s loved this so much we made sure we snagged every bottle that came to X and are now offering it to you at an incredible low price. The lowest we could find online is $14 and with the $24 mail-in-rebate on 12 bottles you can get this wine for under $10. At this price, it won’t last very long.

2012 KAIKEN TERROIR SERIES CABERNET SAUVIGNON CORTE

“This is beautiful and sexy with lots of dark fruits, dark chocolate and hints of vanilla beans. Cappuccino too. There is lots of new wood showing but it’s integrated and delicious. Made from 80% Cabernet 12% Malbec and 8% Petite Verdot.”

    93 Points James Suckling

The wine takes its name from the Kaiken, a distinct breed of geese that crisscross above the Andes Mountains from Chile to Argentina. Aurelio Montes, the founder and Chilean winemaker of Montes Wines, fell in love with Argentina’s terroir-driven winesand created the Kaiken brand to showcase the best of both sides of the Andes. Just as the geese crisscross over the Andes so does Aurelio and now his son, Aurelio Montes Jr who continues the family owned winery.

    $14.99 Everyday

    $12.99 XXXX's Email Price

    $11.99 on 12 Bottles with $24 M.I.R. NET $9.99

Pulling a magnum of Clos Pepe 2009 Pinot tonight. We're making herb-crusted veal chops on rosemary crisps with roasted shallot sauce. Off to the farmstand now to find veggies, and fruit for a cobbler. So nice to be home and cooking in our kitchen again.

Despite overwhelming local opposition BATF last week tweaked the Sta. Rita Hills AVA boundary a bit to the east, bringing Pence in.
