A rare thing -- shockingly, they often don't public the lower scoring wines because they only want to publish higher scoring wines, underlining the true purpose (in my opinion) that they're really out to just sell more wine. There were highly publicized bad reviews of Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet back several years ago. Laube gave it a 68, I believe.

I think publishing all the wines they score is a useful thing. I like as much diversity of opinion as possible.

I've always run hot-or-cold with Harlan. The 2002 was abominable to my palate, lots of volatile acidity, but the 2001 was brilliant. Just always seemed like such a gamble at the price.

And then there's Screaming Eagle ...

PT, Given the fine Cab, I may have gone for a Blanc first or a Sancerre with those appetizers. In for many pennies in for even more pounds.

Malibu, great point. However, we didn't want to imbibe too much as we already had cocktails.
One note, the Harlan was fantastic with the Maine oysters!

    Thanks.
And I posted this in the "what are you drinking" thread, should be here:
Had a Pinot from one Ken's neighbors.
2011 Melville. Worth more than the affordable price for sure.
Sonoma Coast would have made it 25% more probably. At least for now.
    But not much longer.

We have two or three cases of Melville, but we quit the club maybe a year ago. Been a lot of changes there recently, going to be interesting to see how it plays out. Kinda as with Brewer-Clifton.
