Same here... Never communicated with my host at Wynn other than email. Last trip there she didn't even send me a crappy fruit platter (always got fruit or champagne before I had Host)
My charges always get picked up but beyond that no communication (I'm told she has a lot of huge players, one of which I'm not)

My current host who is covering off my other host's maternity leave upgrades my room and is about 50-50 on answering emails I send him. I have had to call Guest Services to book offers because I couldn't get him to answer me so fuck him.

Perhaps I expect too little, I'm not sure if I should be asking for more? But asking or expecting a bit less does come with the benefit of feeling no obligation to play if you are having a bad trip. I will hit Tier II with CET this year. I am not sure what other Tier II Diamond people get/expect??

My hostess who I had assigned who is on Mat Leave I have met a few times and she has hooked me up with show tix and juiced the up front comps. I thought she was pretty good. I think the current guy is mailing it in on me which I understand as he is the swing guy until she returns. We all realize that $$ talks but I can't help but feel a host at an MGM prop with all things being equal is better or at the least may have a bit more discretion. I could be wrong.

Based on what I know and it isn't a lot, a host at MGM for your level of play would be able to do a lot more then CET host. It's good that you do have a CET host that can do somethings for you, but their system is just too far designed to automate that process and 'self comp'. My brother who has been between tier 1 and tier 2 locally, and hasn't been out to Vegas in years, continues to get calls from host, but when he asks for anything (and I mean fairly small requests, like show tickets, room bookings, etc), they continue to point back to the system, to the point he's had to ask them, why the hell are they calling him all the time.

Yup. That's exactly where I am at with these jive turkey's. I have been cold called by a host in New Orleans after my last two visits there. Perhaps, just perhaps I should look them up to see what they are saying.

I wouldn't waste your own time based on my brother's experience, almost seems like they have a quota of cold calls to make but refuse to do anything as far as even booking a room, they advise go through TR. However of course as you know your mileage may vary.

they just want to hook you so that if you do book a stay through them, they get the credit for your play. They are not calling to give you more comps, they are trying to expand their player base.

Ya that was my understanding as well. Because of this I have cut them out as much as I can when booking things and also accessing Guest Services. Fuck lazy hosts. Guest Services has always been pretty accommodating. In fact I get better shit from them than the few times I have been checking in and asked the host on duty for something.

One time I was checking in at the Diamond Lounge at Flamingo into a little piddly Go room and I was a day late checking in so I asked for an extra night comped. Front desk guy checks with host who says "No, we already comped last night and an extra night will be extra (about $200)" Meanwhile right on the app on my phone I'm staring at an offer to give it to me for free but this lazy ass muncher is trying to charge me. I show it to front desk girl who is politely embarrassed. Of course I know she can't do anything about it and I'm very nice to her. She suggests that I simply book the offer on my phone, which of course I had planned to do. Anyways problem solved on that room situation.

Just an example of how little "Host's" are empowered to do and in fact they might as well be telemarketers!

So why am I with these guys instead of MGM you may ask after all of this??? Cuz getting good room comps is very very painless and I like being able to nomadically wander several props when I'm gambling. For me to get a comparable room at an MGM prop it would certainly require more concentrated play at the hotel I am staying at.

I had a room comp at Mirage a couple years ago. A host gave me 3-4 nights up front based on past play and my CET status. I went in and played and in fact even hit a $4500 Royal. Next time I called he said I didn't play enough and no more freebies. I cannot recall my coin in but folks, it was not THAT short if it was short at all. A host with a slightly longer term vision may have given me one more kick at the can to get back that $4500 I won on $1 video poker!

Okay this is turning into more than I had expected.....
