I do $100 in a handshake when I see my host. If I don't see my host, nothing.

I've had good service. But I haven't had a host that I feel gives me something that I didn't earn. Maybe I'm just not at that level yet.

The hosts I have that are willing to go out of their way for me- above and beyond- are all ones that I have been with since the early beginnings of their careers and we have become friends on various levels. I suspect feel some level of indebtedness as I could have choosen more established hosts. But frankly the younger more hungry ones would go further for you - or at least when they could pre-pgp.

Do it in private or were there cameras? I think you usually have to be discreet as they're not supposed to accept tips so they'll refuse if there are cameras

I'm a micro roller and typically just get a premium (high level with view etc) room 3-4 days and maybe $2-300 food over the stay. I generate probably 3000-4000 theo so I think I'm close to maximizing my comps. For the last 3-4 trips I stayed at MGM, Mirage, and Cosmo. No issues with any property.

Oh the big question, I tipped my hosts$100-200 for the stay. Usually $200 but once I tipped only $100 for a two night stay.

    Did I do okay?

I have never tipped my host a dime. Not because I am cheap but I have never met the guy. I have only had a host for my last 3 trips and he is based out of Paris (or Bally's maybe) and I have been staying at the Cromwell. He has made no effort to meet me (which is fine with me) so I sure as hell hope he isn't expecting me to track him down so I can tip him. With that said he doesn't really do much for me, books a room and gives me some free play and got me a limo to/from the airport my last trip. I don't need him to do anything more than that.
