Only time sick in Vegas was about 7 years ago when we went over Christmas. The day after we arrived had to take my daughter to a prompt care- strep throat. Yep, I got it the next day. But I didn't let that stop me. Z-packs work really well even if you chase them with beer or vodka tonics.
Not going to let something like strep throat ruin my trip to Vegas!!

I usually wake up feeling like I have some kind of cold on the last day. I'm from the northeast, so I think the dry air screws with my system, and when you combine that with the the crowds, the lack of sleep, and the overeating/overdrinking, it's a pretty good recipe for getting sick.

A few years ago my husband got sick on day#3 of a 5 night trip. He stayed in the room at MGM without leaving. I am sure he had the flu. I started feeling sick on the flight home. By the time we got back we both were feverish and coughing. We went to the doctor the next day. I was running a temp if 104. My husband had to be hospitalized for 2 days for pneumonia. I missed a funeral for one of my best friends because I was so sick.

I now bring Clorox wipes and wipe down the tray tables etc on the plane. It is the only time I ever am addicted to hand sanitizer. We also made a pact to never set foot in the Stratosphere again. My husband thinks he got sick there. I think it was at the airport.

Just imagine what that cost the airline.

Haven't gotten sick in LV beyond my random facial swellings and intestinal disease (get sick after pretty much every meal out there, damn crab legs, survive every time) but I did learn how bad it sucks to hurt yourself while out there. Flipped an ATV in Moab Valley, had to have my foot and shoe extracted from the undercarriage and was in extreme pain by evening. Was carried like Caesar thru the Flamingo so we could grab a scooter. Spent a couple hours telling my husband to go on without me because trying to get my jeans off was torture. Surprised security didn't get called from my screaming (prob not that unusual in LV). He ran to CVS and spent $100 to immobilize my ankle (three items lol) while I struggled into his pajama scrubs. Spent our last night in LV dressed to the nines in scrubs riding around on my rented scooter, love that he made me go out and not sit in the room sad. TSA was a real joy the next day.

After running myself ragged the whole time I am out there, I think I pick up my after-LV sickness on the plane. Defenses are destroyed by then.

On one of my first trips to Vegas I had the $1.99 steak and egg special at Sahara. It later became the search for the garbage can while on the shitter special. I was out of commission for a about 36 hours.

Now a days I always have a dose of cipro with me in Vegas in case I get sick.

Have never gotten sick in Vegas, but on my last trip, a couple of days before my flight out, my right foot was in a lot of pain. I wasn't sure why exactly. I spent the days leading up to my flight resting and icing it because i was having some issues walking on it. Not the type of thing you want to deal with in vegas, even if it was just on fremont street.

The day of the trip it was still bothering me, so i had a bit of a limp, so i decided to drink away the pain. Eventually i stopped feeling the pain, and it was gone by the next day.
