If food is factoring into the decision, I'd definitely look at golden nugget over Fremont. I've eaten 2 meals at the GN and both were great. One was the Italian joint and the other was chart house.

In my reply I say I'd lean towards GN, but personally I have not stepped foot in the place in ~10 years. I hate the place/odds on VP and I hate the attitude of the employees. But if you want a Strip experience, this is the place.

    Thanks Joe and All,
From what I've heard, late last year the GN started replacing many of the staff with new fresh blood and they seem to be reaching out for new visitors and reinforcing customer service,, etc...

Funny how things work out sometimes. Just a few hours ago I received an e-mail from the GN host confirming my reservation and relieving my small anxiety as the e-mail stated that my room and food comps are non conditional for my visit. I had been a little worried about that.

I was at GN last summer and had a ball. The pit bosses and dealers were very friendly and accommodating. I had heard that the GN wasn't the friendliest place too, but I experienced just the opposite there.
I hope we still have a world in December the way things are going.

For the money I like TI. Back in April I cancelled a stay at Mgm. I had 2 free nights and paid for 3rd night. It came out to around $200 total because the third night was over $80 and I had to pay resort fee on all 3 nights. TI was around $50 a night no resort fee. Once you stay with them you should get offers that include resort fees optional. We hadn't been there for almost 3 years so we had no recent play. The rooms are nice. We got a strip view room plus late checkout for free. Food options are not great but close to many other options. Plus a fridge in the room and CVS on property.

At least once a trip, when the wife wants to got to the fashion show mall, I hit the HL limit room in TI for a few hours. The rules are good and the minimums are low ($25-50). I don't think it is difficult to get comps if you play green action. I have a small line of credit (5k) and they are always sending me offers for suite, limo and food. Not sure that I will every take them up because my wife isn't interested but they are aggressive with the comps.

Definitely check when you leave TI for some back end comps- of course it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway - be sure to use your card every time. : )
