Been there. Not a fan of jumping on the course after a 6 hour pre trip (especially if winter in Canada). Reserve my golf for next morning, especially after some airlines have taken my clubs 'hostage' (in other words, lost temporarily).

Depends on how the trip went. If it was rough the first thing is sometimes a nap. If we drove, it's almost definitely a nap! The problem is that we can never actually sleep even though we are physically exhausted. So we turn on the tv and put away some toiletries and try to recover from being molested by TSA or crammed in a car having to pee but not wanting to stop. The first night we always just walk around our home casino and environs to get the lay of the land, see what's been moved, added, closed.

I have to get unpacked and get a shower, it lets me chill out a bit, and then hit the ground running

I've read many a story how so many like to hit In and Out first thing. We did this last week for first time. I think we are one and done. So many better options. It was cheap though.

As a SoCal native I have a lot of respect (and love) for In-N-Out, but it's still just a fast burger joint, and every region has a great fast burger option, it seems. When I get off a plane in PDX I don't head to Burgerville, however. It's still all just fast food. It's most bueno when navigating a long day of So Cal freeways, for a tasty break after Costco, but a vacay destination?

I think a lot of times the "hype" is taken out of context. Especially on the Burger/Fast Casual segment. People hear their friends raving about what a great burger they have at Five Guys/Shake Shack/InO/etc. And those places do have a great burger, when compared to McD's or BK, but the hype often doesn't have that context and people go in expecting some phenomenal meal and end up with just a solid but not unbelievable meal and are disappointed. InO has the added benefit of being a regional thing where it becomes a special stop for those who don't live anywhere in the SW.

Well .... I must be the odd one but the first thing I do is find a slot machine at the airport and put 20 in. After that there are a number of things that end up happening but that is almost always the first thing I do when I get to Vegas.
