We have a guy in our travel group who had a tendency not to be able to find his wallet. And after a couple years of trips when he'd drink the wine but then claim he didn't order it, he's past that now. Thankfully he doesn't drag us off to Cheesecake Factory or Outback, and he finds a way to make his price-phobia work wherever we end up. We don't hammer it top drawer every meal out, either, in return.

Tangential, but this reminds me of one of my favorite Vegas stories. Was out for a buddy's bachelor party, and his dad got hammered the first night. We finish up dinner at StripSteak and all go our separate ways. Some to craps. Me to blackjack. The dad? He realizes, shit, I've lost my wallet. So he hoofs it all the way back to Aria. Goes to the front desk. Gets a new key to his room, after a lot of wrangling trying to convince them he really is staying there and really does need a key. Is on the phone with his wife telling her she needs to help him cancel all the credit cards. Takes his berating from her. Gets up to the room, cancels all his cards, etc. ... and finds his wallet. In his pocket. All along.

A tale of literally not finding his wallet, as opposed to the figurative kind.

I might get crucified for this but I like sitting on the patio in the forum shops at the Cheesecake Factory. Although we don't have them in Canada.

My flights usually gets in at late afternoon or early evening. If I do have to eat it's usually something quick like Earl of Sandwich

Since I go to Vegas more often than any other travel destination my packing is almost an unconscious job and the trip over is usually same depart and arrival time.
It's 4-4 1/2 hours from my office via car. Quite a difference to what some of you have to go through, like Macker.
If I'm alone I eat and have a couple drinks and then try and get a positive hour or so win in.
If I'm with my wife then it's Wynn and La Cave and wine flights before the tables.

Ah, shucks, we're all nice here. You get the North o' the 49th Exemption. (But you do know Spago is right down there, too, eh?!? And the Palm?)

Check-In. Head to the Room to put the Bags down and pour a drink. Head down to the Casino and grab a beer from one of the Casino Bars and head to the Strip to take it all in.

I like the aquarium there. Trevi has good people watching and a good happy hour at the bar

My house-to-hotel travel time is normally between 12 and 13 hours so I'm normally pretty beat when I arrive. I find my favorite VP bar in whatever hotel I'm staying at and immediately sit down for a quick beer or two. Just enough to relax and shake off the travel. From that point on there is no real plans and we do whatever we feel like.

Depends a lot on time of arrival.

Learned that early afternoon means first night/early next day is a total write-off. Normally start with getting removable items out of suitcase - toiletries, etc., then down to casino for beverages and gambool. Always think that food should be a good idea, but that ultimately cuts into valuable drinking/gambling time.

If it is a later evening arrival, then a chilled out evening with early to bed, but early to rise too. Then daydrunk is the norm.
