I come to the conclusion that I have blown through too many brain cells in Vegas as I can't quite put my finger on where my first stay was ... but I am going to see if I can narrow it down.

I am pretty sure it was Excalibur around 1991/92 but I really don't remember the rooms but I know we were there. A couple years later, I started going more often and what I would consider the start of my love for Vegas (already hooked on gambling in Reno and South Lake). That would be what I would consider my first Vegas "Stay" .. the problem is I can't remember if it was the MGM Grand, Trop or Luxor as I stayed all three in a short period of time. If it was the MGM Grand, then I would have say, I would return as that has been my home casino for the last 10+ years. The others have no real interest in returning.

Las Vegas Hilton and luxor, pyramid room cause you know pyramids are awesome!

Would I do it again? I don't know but probably not as I don't get offers from those places anymore and I usually follow my offers.

I don't like the de-theme of luxor. I would like to go back to the book at Westgate though.

    NYNY in 2012.
Loved it, ate at America restaurant at 4am each morning. Went in the (small) club a few nights. Won some money. Loved it.
In future trips, whilst staying elsewhere, a visit to NYNY just felt 'right'.

I got caught up in the romance of it all and stayed there again in December after bouncing around some other properties. It just didn't feel the same this time for so many reasons. So much so that I don't think I'd stay there again.

First hotel I stayed at was the Stardust in '82. It was in one those outlying motel buildings with names like Jupiter, Mars, Saturn etc. Back then it was like $19 on weekends. Would I go back if the Stardust was still around? Absolutely but there's no way in hell I'd stay in one of those motel rooms that weren't connected to the main building. It was fine when I was in the Navy and only 19 years old and didn't know any better.

The first real super resort I stayed at was Caesars. I've been back and would stay there again. One of my favorite things to do is to play dice in their original casino. I've made a point of doing it my last 20 or 30 trips.

Yeah, the book at the Westgate has always been a nice place to hang out and watch a game or two.

First trip for me was a combination of Four Queens and Harrah's. I probably wouldn't stay at either again, but they're not without their charm. Harrah's has location going for it, but not much else. I can't think of anything that would make anyone want to stay at Four Queens. At the time I was in town for five nights with a few buddies. I brought along six or seven hundred dollars for the entire trip. That was for food and everything. I ended up getting down to about fifty bucks on my second day. I went on a super hot streak and ran it up to $1,500 or so. Of course I went home broke, but for those few days I felt like a million bucks.

Technically the first place was the Motel 6 on Tropicana. First at at the legal gambling age was in 2008 at Stratosphere. I would probably stay there again if it was the best option for the purpose. I'm not one that is too picky about the room since I'm only in the room a small amount.

This gives me a great opportunity to tell a brief story. My first visit to Vegas was approximately 9 years ago, I was on a work placement year (internship) whilst studying for my business degree. Working in the City of London I met a few people from my home town in the country one of whom went on to become one of my best friends.

We decided that as his sister was getting re-married (second husband) in LV we would do a two week trip to San Fran and LV driving between the two. We stayed at the Imperial Palace , both skint, both looking for a cheap time (sub $200 a day cheap!) we ended up at the old o'Sheas and a place at the front of the IP that I think was called Cat House?

Anyway, one night in Cat House we get drunk, like blind drunk, and stagger back to the room, in the lift my friend (much better looking than me) gets chatting to a fellow Brit (from up North , about 300 miles away) and goes back to her room. Needless to say they seal the deal and go their separate ways .

Anyway a few months later, back in London, a new girl starts in the office. Long story short after a few months they start dating, then get engaged, then eventually plan to get married about 18 months later. During the pre-weddings friends and family meets he finally meets his future brides old school friends who she doesn't see very often. One of whom was the girl from the Imperial Palace! He was sweating it that she would spill the beans even though he didn't even know his bride at the time.

    Love that.

I stayed at the LINQ last March for my Stag Do, still a great place to get blind drunk even if I stay at the Cosmo / PH with the wife.

I then had my first stay the following year in 2008 at Ballys.. .I dont really have a desire to stay there again, but they did update the rooms which dont make them horrible like Circus Circus..
