Monte Carlo, mid to late 90's (between '95 and '99) for a work meeting. I have nothing against it, but it wouldn't be my first choice of places to stay and if it gets re-named, re-themed, or re-cycled, I wouldn't be upset about it.

Sahara about 18 years ago. Friend was trying to get my to come to Vegas for years - to view the Star Trek Experience. Room was not the greatest - mold on walls, stuffy and no a/c working. Booked through an agent for Run of the House room. Well, we got it alright.

I did not gamble before this trip, but played $20 in slots and $20 on roulette on last day before leaving. Won nothing and felt scared about my 'big' bets. Now over 40 trips later, I blame him for getting me stuck on Vegas (I got him obsessed about Star Trek). I sure lost on that trade!!

First stay was at Luxor in 2010 in a Tower room. Stayed there once more since then with a MyVegas comp. Would I go back? Only if I needed a place to stay for a night. I wouldn't stay there for an entire visit.

2000 Sahara for $19 split 4 ways. Thought the $1.99 buffet was the shit. Barely scraped together $22 for gas to car ride back to LA.

Good times. My how things have changed!

First, trip was in 2001/2002 for NYE. It was a huge group of people I went to law school with. We stayed at Paris. Never a big fan of the place and we will not stay there again. It was a good trip but we did not pace ourselves. The night before NYE everyone got so hammered that it put a damper on our NYE dinner and festivities.

Flamingo circa 1992. I was underage. Thought I was in the greatest place on Earth. Still do. Usually.
Next trip was several years later to the Venetian pre-Palazzo. It was a big improvement.
From there I migrated to the Bellagio mostly.
Later an aggressive host from Mandalay Bay found me in the 2008-11 period and made it worth my while to go down the street. I still have fond memories of that place and think it is underrated if you know what/where to go once there.
I've been mostly at MGM due to finding a better host since then. I really like the host, but I have not run well there in a long time and am considering another permanent move.

Budget Suites on Rancho aka felony flats. Would never return although I was thoroughly fascinated by it all my first time in Vegas.
