Sorry I wasn't clear. The music industry did not, to the best of my knowledge, benefit from a bailout. Their "BoD" did lobby heavily for and did receive federal intervention/participation in many copyright infringement cases.
Regardless, my pt stands - the bean counters came in to take everything they could regardless/in spite, of the downstream effect. And I think pensions are a good thing!

Well... the average shareholder is a hedge fund/pension fund. Hopefully, they are in it for the long haul. The market since Obama took office... not to be political... has just abt doubled. Slow and steady win the race. But... But, only as long as stock prices go up

I understand that you are a corporate apologist because your wife is some kind of big wig.

but I don't have any chip on my shoulder about corporations. I have just worked with them enough as a consultant that I understand their gross inefficiencies and ridiculous red tape that prevents any sort of actual innovation and forward thinking 99% of the time.

Completely agree. But you also left off another option that players have when they feel unappreciated; they can go to the Bahamas and bask in the sun for a fraction of what they would be willing to lose in Vegas and come back actually relaxed and rested. It seems to ebb and flow too far both ways. We are just on the wrong side of it for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, for those of you on the East coast Bahamas is an option. Especially distance wise. Not really an option for us on the west coast when Vegas is so close.

I meant anywhere with a beach - and no casino. We have been doing more and more of those trips and less and less to Vegas for exactly the reasons you mentioned and to be honest, I feel better for it.

I've seen quite a few island beaches around the world, dozens of islands at least, and for pure fun in the sun, Hawaii still offers the best options.
And they've tried many times to get casinos to no avail.
One needs to have as many get away activity choices as possible.
