I really think wigwam is underestimating the power of a check in agent. I've had them waive resort fees and yes they did get it shit but still the old tip money has some power.

I've always shared a room with a friend. We usually flip the agent a 20, a couple times a 50. I've gotten rooms with nice views, early check-ins, one late checkout, a couple fridges for free, once I got nothing but a thanks. We usually ask for and have never received a better class of room or show ticket deals or passes to the high roller lounges. Now, of course, what you want is an upgraded room. Unfortunately, many places (most?) don't really have an upgraded two queen room.

In my experience if you are punching within your weight class it is all good. I normally stay at CP and when I'm comped up front about 50% of the time it's only Roman/Palace Tower. I go to Diamond Check In and I have NEVER not got Augustus or Octavius. Not once in about 20 stays there. I don't think I have ever asked for me than that but if I have I know it was denied otherwise I would have a fun story here.

If the clerk seems to be humming hawing about the possibility of me NOT getting an upgrade (once or twice) I simply state "I have stayed her dozens of times and I have never been denied an upgrade. I am also willing to wait if you need me." Of course I ask nicely and sometimes I have a $20 for them.

And if I may say, do NOT try a $20 sandwich. That's tacky and lame. Do what Macker said, hold out that money and tell em "It's yours if you can make it happen".

I think ceasers is glad to upgrade players as long as no rack rate customer is left out.

I'm getting comped at CP in the Palace tower, what do you guys think about a $50 at check in? In your guys experience do you think they would upgrade me to augustus or octavious? Or maybe is tipping the $50 just a waste of time?

Never not got Augustus tower for being friendly and a $20 tip. That was with booking the Roman or Palace tower comped. I think I'm about 9 for 10 for a fountain view as well. @Gaggles was told by the front desk that octavius was easy to get upgraded to as rarely people ask for that upgrade cause it's a farther walk. I believe that's how he explained, but he may be able to elaborate.

Yes, last trip they advised it was easier to upgrade to Octavius because people didn't like the walk and they liked to see the Bellagio.
