That I agree with, although at Cromwell in December they tried to sell an upgrade to me for fountainview and I said or I could just give $20 to you for the complimentary upgrade. The clerk seemed to like that idea better :) I will say I don't mind the the eStandby upgrade CET has now. First time seeing it was on this last trip, got a petite suite at Caesars Palace for like $28 a night. That upgrade is far cheaper than what difference was between the two rack rates was. It's all relative now, they can still easily upgrade at Flamingo to a Go, Ballys to a Jubilee Tower, PH to a resort room for a $20. Are those suites? No. That being said I have found in the past that sometimes that $20 and a little small talk can get you upgrades to a suite.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tipped a $50 or even a $20 and still got nothing? They take your tip, say thank you, and keep you in the same room you booked lol.

I don't give to them until they tell me what they're giving me. I just have it my hand and tell them it's there's if they can upgrade me

I'm newly Mlife Gold, which includes room upgrades when available. Should I be tipping on top of that? I'm 2 for 2 for upgrades with no tip, but they were only +1 room upgrade level at NY NY and a "view" room at Mirage.

Yea that's a good idea actually. Give them some incentive to upgrade.

Be specific on the upgrade you're looking for. To them an upgrade could be a higher floor or merely a strip view. Or it could be a larger room. Like when I check in at Cosmo I'm typically booked into a terrace studio or 1 bedroom. I always ask about upgrades fora wraparound.

You can gamble away your brain power? Drink away maybe. I know your wife was a manager at some point or maybe still is, but don't be a fucking cry baby when someone disputes your opinion based on their experiences. There are many cases of people being upgraded to suites by front desk agents. Do you think everyone had a manager check them in? Possibly, is it really that common for managers to be working the desk?
