I win most of the time... but never very much...certainly not enough to even pay for a mortgage payment & car note, let alone put food on the table.
Of course, I "low-roll"...so, leaving Vegas with a $400 win, after 3 days of $10-to-$40 bets, is comparable to PT winning $40,000 betting $1k-to-$4k bets.

    So, what does that mean?
That I should probably shove my Gold Coast & Fremont comps up my own rich-ass.

I certainly respect your prerogative to tip as you see fit, and I get your ironic humor in stating that this represents the waitress not getting a free ride, because ironically it represents the non-tipper getting a free ride.

Opinions may vary, but the anecdotal consensus amongst those I've encountered is that service in the US tip-based economy exceeds other non-tip-based cultures in quality.

Effectively the owner of a business employing tipped employees enjoys a lower cost and these businesses are competitive enough that this gives them leeway in controlling prices, effectively lowering the price as compared to the non-tipped model--everything else being equal.

Personally I enjoy the fact that this model gives the customer control and motivates the employees more in general.

Yes..... we're in the 'get to go maybe once a year camp', so when our long waited-for trips finally come about, we get prepared - show tickets, etc. and of course pretty pumped up a month in advance... Our Bally's comped trip in May was to begin on a Tuesday, on Monday we found out that the wife's lingering health issues would require us to miss our trip the next day.......no Bally's, no Lionel Richie, no Terry Fator, no Rock of Ages, no meet up with a few sets of friends from here, no American Air flight...wait, scratch that, that one might not be so bad.... Anyway, it was a bummer and it took a while to get over it but...........Hopefully we can just get pumped up all over again sometime soon!!!
