I had a question about dice ratings. If I'm playing $100 on the don't pass, and then once a point is established betting $50 on 6 and 8, taking my bet off once either hits the first time. Will my average bet be $100 or some average of $100 and $200. Thanks. Cool site by the way.

so much of rating at dice is based on what the pit boss sees and how generous he wants to be.

if he's not paying attention because it's a busy table, he may rate your first bet and never look again. so when you leave he'll just put down your first bet as your average. on the flip side, if he happens to look at you when you've pressed up a bunch and writes down a big number and then never looks again, he might have a super inflated average.

if you only are putting the $50 x 2 up there every so often, there's a good chance he misses it or doesn't really count it for much. so your rating could be anywhere from $100 to $200 with a good chance it's closer to $100.

Wynn host told me last week that the recently lowered the theo numbers for bj (which makes sense with the other cutbacks )...

So, not only does it seem that the major casinos around town are lowering your available comps, but they are lowering the theo that is being earned that is available to be used against those reduced comps................

Is there a thumbs down or "dislike" button I can press for this? Did the host say how much they are cutting the theo for BJ?

I'm comparing theo numbers between Wynn and Cosmo and Cosmo way down again. Since this is the first losing trip in 3 at Cosmo it is time to switch to another. Hopefully I can win at V/P this time

Yeah it seems like they are all tweaking numbers, just pissing players off...

it only makes sense from a business perspective.

since 99% of players have no idea how much theo is earned for a particular game, this is one easy way to reduce comps without people even knowing about it in order to get pissed off.

the whole premise is ridiculous though since theo is supposed to mean the actual theoretical based on the HA, but now it's just an arbitrary figure that they base your comps on.

Yeah, but for players that depend on theo for certain thresholds , it is very bad. I made about 125% more theo at the Wynn than at Cosmo. Playing about the same. Palazzo theo is even a little better than the Wynn.

Basically because of theo discrepancy, and failure to track losses, I'm out about 5-6k at the Cosmo. I know it is one hand but it is one hand that I can decide whether to play or spend on hookers.

Very unhappy with the Cosmo this trip; they might not get my repeat business unless it is for a free tournament I will drop in.

Wynn pisses me off too with their lowering in theo; but at least they don't mess up your loss tracking too badly.

Yep, that'll be frustrating to not be able to determine the theo. We'll have to track our play and theo at individual games across different properties to be able to gauge our theo generated.
