Don't they already have "Hotel32" or something like that there as the hotel-within-a-hotel concept?

I remember there was some floors remodeled at Montecarlo back when Vegas chatter was still around. Wonder if those will stay or get redone as well?

What awful, generic names. Someone got paid a lot of money to come up with them. Im in the wrong business.
It doesnt say it in the article I pasted below but I read somewhere else that they want to compete with Wynn, Encore and Cosmo. Gonna take a lot more than 450 mil to do that. I wonder what kind of affect, if any, it will have on the room market. I've not stayed there but find it more in my price range than Wynn/Cosmo.

More importantly for the hotel name, there's also a NoMad Hotel which is very popular. This is sort of like when they were going to turn the old Bill's into a Gansevoort, which is named after the street on which the hotel is located, and again is very well known within the city.

The fact that they're supposedly getting an Eataly is the most interesting part to me. Eataly has a restaurant component to it, sure, but a big part of the draw is the market/shopping aspect of it. Presumably this is going to be restaurant-only (I can't imagine a Vegas hotel giving up that kind of space to a fish market), and that's not my favorite part of the complex. But then again, given that they already have an 800 Degrees at Monte Carlo, it's not like they could bring in Mario and Joe for a pizza concept, which is one of the places where I think they really shine.

Presumably the NoMad is going to replace Hotel 32. The problem is that, while NoMad is known within NYC, it doesn't have the same sort of cachet in the rest of the country, and I can't see them generating the same kind of buzz that Carbone (another NYC transplant) or even Shake Shack (same) did.

yes to eataly will create a big buzz, and a 3 star mechillin chef is comin from nyc,

i bet minus 5 goes bye bye and the make a real club.targeting new yorkers isnt a bad idea , te la concept hasnt worked (sls) but shake shack has .

it will be the deleno and then the regular hotel. exprices to rise alot , it could be the new mgm /aria

No one who doesnt live in the 4 square blocks north of Madison Park has ever heard of NoMad and no one who actually lives there uses that moniker. And no one who doesnt go to Vegas twice a yr is going to have any idea what Park MGM is. That doesn't get any more generic. It tells you absolutely nothing and doesnt even sound like a hotel name. Thats not a good thing in a competitive market.

acualy not true , i have friends in la who know about eataly and , there coverd on a weekly tv show and joe is on tv and mario is a big name. in no mad has one one if the top resurants in the world there, they hold the nyc bbq week there , shack shack in there park there. its not as isolated as u think. no mad is a lot more trendy than it was 10 years ago when it was just hookers and platos retreat
