Instead of slots, why not try Baccarat. or craps... Glen had said he'd be happy to talk to you about baccarat.... Less volatility than slots... You may win and enjoy sitting with others and talking and having a few drinks. House advantage in slots is way too high,,, very low in baccarat... with slots you really have to step in shit to win decent.... no guarantees in table games, but a much better chance....

    Talk to Glen..

I have the same restraint problem :) Why not wire transfer money to the Cosmo. That's what I'm going to do. My host said she would arrange for me to be able to get it all when I check in. I am at the MGM Grand for my first night and will bring only the amount I want to spend that first day.

It sounds to me like you already take the most important measures, leaving your ATM card etc at home. Thats impressive restraint in my opinion.

Some people actually schedule their max play per day, use the envelop system, and I can't imagine how they do that. The only version of restraint that I might do is play smaller stakes in the first day or two. Save the larger play for the last couple days, or if I win.

But I think all plans are vulnerable to TILT.

I am a huge fan of the envelope system...I too only bring the cash I intend to spend/loose while in town. We usually go for 5 or 6 days and I divide our money according to where we will spend it. One for each of us that holds our BR, one for food, one for entertainment, one for hotel charges and another for ' extras'. When we charge to our room, i move the cash from the food envelope to the hotel envelope, if we get back end comps, the cash comes home to start the kitty for our next trip. Same holds true for our BR envelope, we budget a set amount for each day, with winnings going into our extra envelope, which we will use for additional activities, or shopping, anything left goes into the kitty for the next trip. This is the only way I have found to make sure we have enough cash to cover everything we want to do I don't belive in charging vegas fun.

Our first trip we ran out of money 2 days before departure, it killed me not to be able to gamble, but we did have a lots of quality time in the room..lol
