The feeling of being chip leader running over the people from the bubble all the way to the last man...priceless

Better yet it had a price..PAID TO YOU! I need to photoshop my face in there and change the name on the check. Send it to my brother ( who is a huge poker player) and pretend I won next time I'm in Vegas. It would be too funny.

I've played a number of tournaments now, many are shovefests at some point, others start out that way, some have great structure (too great if you really aren't prepared to sit for a long time). I've won 5-6 of the daily tournaments when I've been out there, and I still get a bit nervous sitting down. I would say that having spent 2 years playing tourneys exclusively at a local poker club, helped immensely with my comfort level, but I easily get wired up when sitting down for a tournament. It's the nice thing about free drinks.

If your looking for your first tournament, shoot for something in the $60-75 dollar range, it won't guarantee it's not a shove fest, but if you aren't familiar with what you want starting stack to be, blind levels, blind level times, etc, then it's the best alternative and most in that range should suffice for a casual gambler, who might play a tourney every once in a while at home with a big group.
