Margarita with Don Julio Anejo, fresh Lime juice, and DiSaronno (instead of Cointreau or Triple Sec).

Good vodka, tonic, lots of ice and fresh mint.
    It's that simple.

    I am a beer girl, too. :)

If you like vodka and lemonade, try grape vodka and Simply Fresh lemonade with crushed ice. Sounds weird but it is yummy.

Just leaving a work related event where I tried one of these. I'm not a gin guy, but it was REALLY good. Excellent call!

I remembered it from your post, so when I saw it on the menu I thought I'd give it a try. The other ingredients kept the juniper flavor in check, which is good because to me gin tastes like I just licked a pine tree.

The bar/restaurant was called Travelle (in Chicago), they have a really interesting cocktail menu, lots of old drinks available - Google it, it's pretty cool. But they did fuck up when I challenged them with Shifter's Smoke Over Water - not good at all.

I'll be in Chicago in May, so will have to check it out! Menu looks cool.

Yeah, the balance between the lemon and the gin and then the somewhat sweetness of the orange liqueur make for a nice balance of sweet-tart-herbal. Glad you liked it!
