So the initial plan was to do a semi-live TR, but failed miserably at that (unless 8 months late is included in the definition of "semi"). However, I did take some pics and notes throughout my stay, so let's see what I can do with that. I have a March Madness trip planned in two weeks, so consider this an introduction (this is actually my first TR ever, so bear with me!!)

Traveled out from CLT for a 7 day trip, primarily for the WSOP and cash games. I used to play 5-10 events a year, but definitely lack the patience I had when I was younger, and prefer cash games and blackjack.

My wife will typically come out for one of the weekends I am there, and even though she was 6 months pregnant, this year was no exception. I accidentally got her addicted to blackjack, so it's nice to share some degen moments with the significant other. She joined me for the last leg of the trip.

Stayed at Aria for the first half and Caesars for the last weekend.

    DAY ONE

So flight to LAS was uneventful...I travel a lot, so a first class upgrade was pleasantly appreciated. I prefer early morning flights to Vegas, so I can get a full day in.

    Obligatory Welcome to Vegas pic

Checked into Aria and went directly to Bellagio for some poker.

I am primarily a limit player and play 40/80 and higher. Bellagio is the only place in town for this action and I got seated immediately at 9am in a 3-handed game. Perfect. Ended up playing 12 hours or so and booked a decent win..big fan of chip porn too!!!

Called it a night and planned to meet up with some friends the next day for some golf and poker.
Bali Hai and some HL Aria action in the next installment!!

Very interested in this TR! I have been trying to go for the WSOP but haven't ever made it out. I plan to go this year and play in a few events as well as mostly cash. I mainly right now am a 2/5 NL player as it is rare for my casino to kick off anything much larger.

    Thanks guys....really appreciate the comments.

Totally agree Shifter, juicy limit action is tough to beat. I'll play 5-10NL, 10-20NL, but hate getting 15 hands/hour and endless tanking.

Boosted, I'll be out there again for the WSOP this year. Definitely the best time of the year for poker action and its a really cool experience.

    DAY TWO

The coolest thing about limit poker is that there is a small player pool at the higher stakes, and very few venues that spread it. Therefore, you get to known people fairly well and travel to a lot of the same places. As we were all in town for the WSOP 6-max $3000 Limit Tourney, we got together for golf, dinners etc.

Played Bali Hai the second day in town. I'm an 8 handicap and shot 93. A bit of a struggle, but really liked the course.

Decided to get together with the other guys in town and go to dinner at Jean Georges. Wasn't overly impressed, but the 8 bottles of wine between 6 people was a plus. We also decided that we were going to go to the poker room and see if they would let us start a 100-200 limit game. Fun eating dinner with friends, but more fun to take their money!!

It was a crazy game and we played with a half-kill to 150-300, with mandatory drinking. Hyper aggressive, so definitely big swings. I was up $14k in the first 3 hours, but gave $8k of it back before we called it a night at 7am. Still booked a nice win and came home to this:

How much did you pay for Bali Hai? I'm thinking about golfing in two weeks, but the tee times there were all around $300. I really don't feel like paying that.

    Great trip report so far.

Thanks Bears. I think it was around $150, but that was in the middle of June and 110 degrees. Course was fairly empty, so I assume the price is much lower that time of year. $300 is a bit too high, in my opinion. Other decent options may be cheaper. Spanish trail, revere, etc.
