I have reached the point where my gambling bankroll has exceeded the amount of money I feel comfortable traveling with.

I once wire transferred money to the Aria cage and used that, but I am wondering if there are better options.

What is the best way to get my gambling money to Vegas? (And back, hopefully, haha)

if you don't want to wire, and you want to bring front money and not use markers, you can bring cashiers checks made out to the casino you will be playing at. same as cash

 

the best option entirely depends on how/where/when you gamble.

FM has its limitations depending on whether you stick with one property or jump around a lot.

CLs can be good, but they have their drawbacks as well.

and it really depends on how much money you're talking about.

5k and you should just put the 50 bills in your pocket and call it a day.

10k and pretty much the same.

20k and now you're talking about an inconvenience especially going through security, etc.

but if you like to jump around casinos, your best option is putting the money in a bank with a branch in Vegas. stop by the branch on your way into town and pick up cash. deposit it on your way out of town with your winnings (hopefully).

 

It will be 10k, and I kinda like to jump around a bit. I will mostly at Palazzo, but will be spending quality time at Aria and Cosmo.

And I really really really don't want to wander around with that much cash in pocket. Just the act of pulling it out of my pocket at the airport and at each table seems like putting a target on me.

I'm considering a credit line, but the paperwork seems kinda intrusive (understandably) and since I'm self-employed (software) it might seem kinda shady.

 

the problem is even if you wire FM, if you wander around, you're going to have to take it with you either way.

unless you setup CLs at every property, but that opens you up to losing more than you want to.

 

I used to do this at Caesars years ago and my host always had me fax a copy of the cashiers check a few days in advance so they could verify it. Don't know if that is still a requirement/recommendation.

I bring about the same per trip. I have $5K CL set up at the casinos I like to play at. I bring 5K with me in cash and if I more I get it from CL. I am very aware and never go over my budget. To have multiple CL you have to be. Then at the end of the trip I pay off the CL with a check if I have taken one out.

 

But I don't have to take out the entire amount all at once, right?
