Why do you play craps at Caesars Palace?

    Here's a rant I've been wanting to post ...

I hate playing craps there because I think the dealers are obnoxious, surly and rude.

I was there during the super bowl playing at the only $25 table (everything else was $50 or higher but that's irrelevant for this rant) and was standing next to a dealer who just walked into his shift. I nod to him and he does not reciprocate. I'm like ok, no biggie, it's not his day, whatever.

I then pick up a small stack of chips in my rack and start to play with them by passing them between my two hands and he turns to me and asks me to "please don't shuffle your chips like that because the noise is very irritating" I shit you not.

I look at him and laughed but then the look in his eyes said that he was dead serious. I immediately asked him to take my $600+ in place bets down, collected my chips and walked out.

Of course this is not the only instance of unprofessional behavior but the straw that broke this camel's back.

Also I hate the uniforms they wear - loose baggy white shirts that are unbuttoned with a fake gold chain and medallion is not a look for a 60+ y/o white male.

Then there's the low ceiling on the casino floor that creates a permanent haze caused by cigar and cigs smoke.

I prefer to play at the Cromwell or PH where the dealers are friendlier and pleasing to the eyes.

I don't see a reason to go back and play there.

I agree that the Caesars craps dealers can be surly. There is rarely a young craps dealer. Most are old white guys.
I play craps mostly at PH and with the graveyard shift at Paris. If I happen to be at Caesars I may play a bit of craps. It definitely isn't as much fun as PH. My last trip to Vegas in February, the craps table I was playing at was hot. A couple of players were douches, mowing down all the center action chips every roll. There was no flow since the dealers had to reset all the action, every roll. The shooters were warned every roll to keep the roll off the center action. Everyone was annoyed, but put up with it and the less than personable dealers since everyone was making numbers and the ATS bet was hitting.

I'd like to be a winner every time with my regular dealers at PH, but I'll take the win at Caesars anytime.

I walked through the pit for the first time last trip.

I couldn't imagine ever playing there.

The low ceiling and smoke haze was unbearable.

    Couldn't believe this was 2016.

My experiences at Caesars have all been pleasant win or lose. I will take the slightly aloof dealers who can run a game like a machine over the dealers who don't police the table. The dealer experience also depends on the customer experience. Happy fun players who aren't being gnats with the tips influence the fun for the dealers who then make it better for the players. You could argue that they are professionals and tips shouldn't impact service if you want. But that is about as realistic as Beejay sticking to his pre-trip VP budget and only playing single play dollars.

Macker and I also had one of the best craps rolls of our life at Caesars one night so my bias may be creeping in ever so slightly but I still say the above is valid!

The only place I have had attitude or hideous craps service is at the Casino Royale and I haven't played there in over 5 yeas cuz the craps crews and the pit bosses troll for tips and act like douche bags to the point of berating players. Bush league when I was there but maybe they have cleaned things up a bit....

I have only ever played at Caesars one time, and it was over 10 years ago. My wife wanted to walk through the Forum shops, and on our way out, I passed an empty BJ table. I figured what the heck, let's play for a few minutes and see if we can get anything going. I bought in, played one hand at $500, and win the first hand. After paying off the bet, the dealer says "don't forget to tip your dealer"! I say "excuse me, that was the first hand, when exactly did you want me to start tipping you? "
I colored up and left. I am up lifetime at Caesars, lol

I like casino's with low ceilings. Possibly why I like The Mirage so much. Even though I am not a smoker, I don't get too bothered by smoke and I think it adds to the ambience. Not a fan of vaulted ceilings. I absolutely hate playing craps in Paris cuz those blue ceilings seem to go forever. In fact my three favourite casinos are Mirage/MGM/Bellagio and I think most of those ceilings are pretty low???

I played in Caesar's three times. 2013, 2014 & 2015. All Craps action. I actually won all three times I believe (at craps), but the surly attitude came from the older dealers who don't take shit off anyone. I'm actually OK with that because they were/are rather professional in their job. Win or lose, they were consistent and I think that matters. I was playing off markers for two of the years, and I'll never do that again. It was like they owned me before I even started playing. Hated the feeling. Anyway, it's the only fire bet I've ever won, hitting 5 of the points. Would I play there again? If I was with this VB gang, sure! However, I've now heard enough things about the Cromwell, PH, and Cosmo to want to seek pastures new (been an MGM/MLife for 20 years). Regarding the Caesar's casino however, you got to love the fact that this casino still delivers in terms of presence on the strip. New casino's have come in, yet Caesar's still exudes the feeling that you've arrived in Vegas. The Forum Shops, the arrangement, and the ambience. Can't fault it. Oh, and Absinthe...well, front row seats (thought I was going to get ripped a new asshole by the compere). Best show I've ever watched in Vegas.

Ugh this is not encouraging since I'm staying at CP for the first time next month. Now reading all these bad experiences at CP and at the craps table no less, is making me reconsider staying there at all. Is CP and the dealers really that bad?

probably one of the oldest( age-wise) overall dice and BJ dealer crews in the city. Cocktail waitresses are dinosaurs as well. When that old and crotchety, they get surly, bitter, and don't really want to be there
