Who has a connection in Hollywood? If none, I will print out this thread and mail it to some studios.

I just watched the first episode of Ballers - second season. It is a spin off of Entourage. I can't help think this could be a sitcom/ drama done Vegas style with a few key players.

You can figure out the main players is this story. Just think through how this could make a fun show to watch on - Cinemax perhaps.

Vegas is the main setting. Key characters are:

An east coast CEO of a known company who has a sex addiction. He should be 50ish and very conservative at the office, but crazy in Vegas on the weekends. His sexual escapades are legendary and a concern he needs to keep hidden in his professional life. No further details needed.

A young playboy type who is married. He goes to Vegas with the wife usually and sometimes solo. He is a go-getter with an urge to make it big in business as well as Vegas. His character is a hustler, but has a volatile personality. Smooth one minute, arguing with pit bosses the next. Picture him throwing a "Last Vegas" type party at the Aria, but having an issue with ________. Fill in the blank.

This is where this show is different from Entourage or Ballers. The brains of the normal characters is a Vegas whale. You can fill in how he earned his money. All of the other characters and extra characters see him like the Wizard of Oz. Kind of mysterious, like a man behind the curtain. Think Charlie's Angels. The difference in other shows is the fact that he started a website about Vegas. When the show gets slow, a post or an extra character from the website creates an episode. Perhaps a foreigner who loves too much wine or someone who is the biggest of whales. Use your imagination.

Ok, you have 3 males in the story. Every story needs a female. How about a Midwestern soccer mom? She too works hard during the week, but loves to meet the guys in Vegas for plenty of shenanigans. Conservatively dressed as mom during the week and ready to walk the strip or club on the weekend. How crazy we make this character is to be determined. For the fictional show, she could have a drinking or gambling problem. Need to have some normal life drama mixed in. Just know we need a female with a dark side to her.

There ya go. An outline to the next show on cable. Tell me something like this would not be entertaining!

Now help me fill in the blanks before I try to find someone to produce it. And I'm kind of serious about sending it to the studios.

Love it. For whatever reason, the Vegas shows that the networks have put out the last few years have oozed cheese and haven't lasted long. Yours would work. It would appeal to the folks in mid life crisis, newlyweds remembering the good days, partiers, Vegas addicts, Ballers fans etc. There's certainly a demo.

I'd recommend a couple of changes to your plan that will allow more recurring characters who aren't always on the show. Ballers has this with the athletes. They can be in the story one week, then not be in a few episodes and it doesn't matter.

I'd focus on the young married guy and the whale. I'd make the young married guy your Vegas hustler. Make him a club/event promoter who is also an independent casino host. Make the whale a professional gambler. Have him run VP, slot, and BJ teams. Have him be a big time sports bettor and poker player.

I think your sex addicted CEO is a better recurring character versus a main character. Instead of a CEO, I'd make him a private equity or hedge fund guy that has made big bets in Vegas casinos because Vegas feeds his addictions. CEOs are watched. They can't just roll into Vegas every 2-3 weeks without somebody saying something. A trader that has big positions in Vegas can go in and just pretend he's checking his investments out.

The whale and the hustler interact because of other big players. The whale is playing poker with some other big time gamblers who want to use the hosts services.

The hustler can interact with the CEO/PE guy by hooking him up with bottle service and women at the clubs. I'd drop the soccer mom and use his wife as the main female. Because of his club promotion gig, he's going to have to interact with a lot of women to make sure he doesn't put his millionaire clients in bottle service in a sausage fest club. Whether he's cheating or not, there can be some serious tension between him and the wife because his job requires him to interact with attractive women and the hours are late.

The whale can have interactions with all kinds of characters. Big time gamblers he meets at the tables. Complete degenerates that he pays an hourly wage to to burn down a giant slot progressive. Sports bet runners to hide his action. Just all kinds of fun stuff that no one person would be doing, but it's TV not reality.

You need a limo driver that can't keep anyone's business a secret, the comedic old timer dealer who also passes on advice to the main characters about life, and the hooker shared by all. ;)
