Tonight it's butter poached halibut with shaved black truffles and heirloom baby carrots.

It's "Taco Thursday," which doesn't mean tacos rather an every week group of wine friends who get together. Tonight it's Tom's A to Z Burgers. lol Nothing like burgers and onion rings and a bunch of nice wines.

Last night I reverse-roasted some mutha thick pork loin chops; I'm loving this technique. Aglio e olio on the side, local asparagus, one of those B-C Pinots. Tomorrow will be "ono" beef kabobs; a teriyaki-ish marinade I stole from the head chef at Fairmont Kea Lani. Stooopid good. I have a nice hunk of strip loin I'll cut down and soak. Sounds like a Zin night. Saturday it's chile verde.

I just chowed down some homemade chicken wings. Get something in my belly before I hit the town for St. Patricks day. I'm wearing my "This Guy Needs a Beer" shirt from O'Sheas, complete with built in bottle opener

I love to cook, but I'm single so a lot of times it's more trouble than it's worth to cook for myself. I still cook a few nights per week, but it's usually something simple like a good steak with grilled vegetables or a simple pasta dish. The thing is simple doesn't have to be cheap or bland. With a few simple ingredients you can make some killer dishes for one in under 30 minutes. And I just realized I sound like Rachel Ray. The rest of the time I go out with friends or order in. Tonight it's a strip and some asparagus. I had a bit of a flair up on the Weber and got a small bit of the steak a bit too done for my taste. Oh well.

Indeed. Simple often times is the best. Danny Ocean and I were talking about that the other day in relation to French.
