They're definitely an American thing. Some trucks are super expensive...the King Ranch and Platinum F150s can go 60-70k and the f250 and f350s even higher.

My ex is Peruvian and couldn't understand why everyone here has s truck and doesn't use it for work purposes only

    Cool thanks!

Yeah I read a long form article on the taxi test and it was super interesting. I want to visit London next year and one of the things I'm looking forward to is taking one of those cabs and talking to the driver about the test.

The beauty of living in so cal right now is that we are having 80+ degree days. I currently have all of my bedroom windows open so that I can fall asleep with fresh air surrounding me

I feel you ken2v. I'm driving a 2008 Acura TSX with 240K miles on it. Looking forward to putting another 200K on it. It has all the bells and whistles for an '08 and I like to drive a car till the wheels fall off. I once owned a 1985 Volvo 240 sedan for 20 years. It had over 400K on the odometer when it died. I just don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest and keep it updated. I enjoy a little luxury but dependability and safety trump most everything else.

Bit of the same up coast here. Place has been wide open for days. Now that damn rocket thing yesterday at oh dark 30 was a bit of a nuisance, but otherwise almost perfect conditions.

I'd jump on the re-issued Ridgeline after it's been out for a half-year or so, but then I think that I'm not even quite to 100k yet on the '07, knock wood we've spent nada on it, it rolled off the lot in the first place at $22,500 with CA's nasty license, title and sales tax included, and then I park the idea. It's the perfect vehicle for our needs -- great on the guys golf trip, bikes go on a rack in back and we still have the trunk and the full-size back seat area. The bed's short and my truck friends scoff that it's not a truck, to which I reply: I didn't want a truck, I wanted a Ridgeline. Nothing like it on the market.

I once rolled up 250,000 on a Camry.

Terri just simply loves her Passat, and I can't argue with what's essentially an A4 at far lower price. But I am concerned about the ticking clock. (And thankfully see sees 40k+ for the Benz and, bless her, says maybe an Accord or a Subaru or the pending Golf Alltrack.)

The R doesn't get here in wagon trim, and it is stupidly overpriced.
