I hear the Pineapple Sculpin flies off the shelf. Anyone try it yet?

I haven't, but I've had a couple of their other Sculpin IPAs and I'm a big fan. I'm from Dallas and try to keep my drinking local.

This weekend, I've been drinking a local coffee porter and a bunch of Angel's Envy whiskey

The Pineapple seems to be more aroma than taste to me... I prefer a fresh grapefruit sculpin. Where's the cucumber beer?!

I wondered about that. I want to try it.

I'm not a big liquor drinker but like some of the flavored stuff. I still need to try the Beeeejay special Peach too.

I'm a solid Jack & Coke kinda guy, though occasionally I'll switch it up to a Maker's and Coke due to my many Kentucky friends. At 57, I come from an age where we college folk from the late 70's and early 80's feel like we pioneered the drink. I recall going into a real bar once (as in old men hunched over their stools) in the early 80's and placing my order. Couple old farts look over and the bartender asks, "why you wanna ruin good whiskey like that?" Now it seems to be accepted, though still not a "real" drink in the eyes of many I know.

It's the safe drink nowadays. If you prefer whiskey cocktails like a manhattan, old fashioned, sazerac, etc. you'll find they vary so much from place to place (with very few bartenders actually knowing how to make a good one) that you give it a shot and order one, are terribly disappointed and settle for something that's almost impossible to fuck up, the whiskey coke.

Anyone a fan of hard root beer? It tastes surprisingly good, but to me it's not much more than a novelty. It's too sweet.

Hendricks gin & tonic for me, but I'll put down a keg of bud light in las vegas. It doesn't weight you down and you can drink all day.

I like the Coney Island Hard Root Beer but can only do one than the sweetness is overwhelming. G&T is my preferred liquor of choice - Tanqueray is the well at one of our favorite local places, Hendricks is my preferred. Although craft beer (if available) is what get consumed most often.
