    Part 1:

I have enjoyed all the great trip reports, so thought I would finally try to post one myself. It’s a recap of last weekend – I knew it would be failure to try to do a live one. Maybe next time.

Also, there have been no shortage of fun and interesting reports – this one will pale in comparison. I’m just not as exciting as some of you real degenerates. Lol.

My wife and I decided a while ago to be in Vegas this weekend to see Billy Joel. Last couple trips were at MGM and Skylofts, so we opted for Aria this time. We have always liked Aria for the Sky Suites, great gym/spa, Carbone, Javier’s, and of course the high limit baccarat room.

Just as I was thinking about getting tickets for the concert, shifter posted his giveaway for tickets. It was awesome when shifter then decided to give tickets to three members of VB, including me. I knew he would be getting much better seats than I could from anywhere else, so our plans were set. It’s been said, but thank you to shifter for his incredible generosity and his approach to running VB.

It turns out all three who were getting tickets to Billy Joel would be staying at Aria ( @98Seahawk and @undathesea being the other two). I briefly met unda at the craps meet last September, but had not previously met Seahawk.

We decided to drive this trip, and arrived Thursday night. Checked in at Sky Suites and settled into a standard 1br Sky Suite on the 56th floor.

Up early on Friday as there was so much to be done that day before the VB meet up at the Mansion at 5pm. Hit the gym early, and then was just walking around Aria on the casino level checking things out when I was sure the guy who just walked past me looked like 98Seahawk. So I yell out “Seahawk”, and sure enough it’s him. Also met Mrs. Seahawk who passed by on her way to the gym. So we are chatting for a while and I noticed a jacket in the window of the men’s clothing store. If I had known the Red Jacket was doomed this weekend, it would have been a good purchase to give it to BS. If someone out there is feeling any guilt at all, just know you could always go to Aria and pick up this Boss jacket for BS.

We had lunch at Herringbone – first time there. They have very comfortable seating on the outdoor patio overlooking the pool on a nice day. Have to say, food was good. Had the shrimp ceviche and a unique and delicious chicken cobb with added avocado. Will try Herringbone again on future visits.

So after lunch we headed over to the MGM where I had a haircut and the Mrs. had cut, color, and who knows what else. The plan was to hang out at MGM until the VB reception, and then an early dinner at one of our favorites, L’Atelier. So after my haircut I headed to the Mansion casino to play baccarat and have a few drinks before my wife was done and the 5pm start of the VB meet up. Had some good luck at the tables and wanted to hold onto this hit n run win, so just chilled in the Mansion casino bar where the regular bartender makes the most tasty chopin/tonic drinks.

Shortly after 5pm, others start to show up including undathesea and Mrs. undathesea, 98Seahawk and Mrs. Seahawk, @Ty Webb Jr, @Ty Webb Sr and friends. The Mrs. finally makes it from the salon and we hang out for a bit. Shifter is running a little late from golf, so Mrs. and I leave for an early and quick bite at L’Atelier.

We were looking for a light meal, so just two courses each. I had the crab leg salad and the malabar pepper beef tenderloin. The Mrs. also had the crab leg salad and then the wagyu ribeye. The food here is always so good. The crab leg salad is incredible – I could eat several of them.

Now I need to have those Mansion crab legs sometime too.

While we were at dinner @shifter and @B S joined the group and they moved to the bar in the Mansion. So as we are negotiating our entrance to the inner part of the Mansion with security, we can see everyone come out of the bar and head into the courtyard, on the way to shifter’s villa. So with that proof that we “belonged”, we hurried after them. Along the way we almost, literally, had a head-on collision with Tiger who was rapidly moving with a purpose, no doubt on the way to the Tiger Jam poker tournament.

So we all hang out in the villa for a while after shifter leaves for the poker tournament. Shifter is such a generous and trusting guy. So it’s his Mansion villa, he leaves for his event and tells his “internet friends” to stay, drink and hang out. After a while, BS said something about gambol, and with that reminder of what we are here for, we all slowly make our way back to the Mansion casino to try some baccarat. A few of us take a table to play – It was me, BS, and I think both 98Seahawk and undathesea at the table, with the ladies and Ty Webb entourage standing behind us. We didn’t play long. BS was the first to color up as he had somewhere to go, and shortly thereafter the rest of us also colored up, stepping back a few paces into the Mansion casino bar again. Another nice short hit n run session. After some drinks I sent the Mrs. to go cash the latest winnings and we decided to head back to Aria with almost $7,000 of MGM’s cash. On the way out we ran into BS and discussed getting together later that night at Aria for some more gambol.

@Way2fast whereas I'm regretting not giving bacc my first shot with you guys (especially given the positive quick results!) I had a great conversation with Mrs. Way2fast, awesome to meet you guys.

At some point I'm going to try to recap my trip and I have an interesting side story to when you were negotiating to get past security.
