At Aria last week on an offer for 3 nights SkySuites plus $500 RC.
Stayed in a one bedroom Aria Suite which I think has around
    $400-$500 a night comp charge.
Extended the trip through my host to 5 nights.
When they confirmed the two additional nights they said they were adding an additional $150/day F+B credit.

At checkout, host removed about $2300 F+B charges and only tips left on bill.
Did not think much about it until I saw they used my last remaining $500 express comps to cover the rest of the bill.

Called the host and asked him and he said my theo for the trip was slightly over15K.He said they comped the appropriate amount.
I had one other stay about a year ago where they did not apply RC until I challenged them on it.
Hoping somebody can give me an idea if this is where it should be or not.

looks just about right. You should have + / - $5000 of comps available, and that is about what they gave you. They are always grabbing the express comps now as they want to get those off the books....................

    that's a bit stingy.

15k theo at 40% could be as much as 6k primary comps, which would have covered everything.

but these days they try to keep it to 30%, which would have been $4500 and then take $500 ECs to cover the rest.

you didn't get screwed, but it sounds like you need a better relationship with your host.

    Thanks guys,
I called him again this morning and asked him to recheck.
He claims I was "somewhat over comped" last two trips prior to this one so this equals out.
Trip in May I only had a 9K theo but dropped 26K so it did not feel like an overcomp!
Did not realize MLife did it like that.

you definitely need a better host/better relationship with your host.

    that's ridiculous.

They always try and grab your express comps, it seems like no matter what. I had to cut a 3 day trip short last year and they tried to grab them at checkout. My host happened to be in the vip checkout and stopped them. Told them to take off everything and leave the EC. This after a day and a half and 75k in theo and about 1.5m in tier points. This has to be a mandate from above for this to be the default at checkout. PGP
