So, last minute family trip that we just decided on today. Lots of factors in play that could have kept us away, but we decided what the heck.

Our main reason for going is celebrating both my wife's and my son's birthdays. My wife just turned one more year more beautiful, and my son recently turned 21. Our older daughter may join as well but she is still undecided. We are driving in late Thursday night after work and after the L.A. traffic dies down,so we will arrive late and may not get much done Thursday since we are arriving so late.

Staying in a Mansion room this trip. Have a few surprises for my wife just so it won't seem like every other trip. I have some Dom champagne, strawberries, and chocolates ready upon arrival. On Friday, we are having dinner at the Mansion, and I am having them make up a surprise birthday cake for my wife. I have a couple other things planned as well that should help make the day special.

Golfing Friday and Saturday morning out at Shadow Creek. Have the first tee time so I can get in a quick 36, and also beat the heat. Since I am golfing solo, hope to get in 36 holes in about 4 hours.

Friday afternoon have a haircut at Christophe at the MGM.

Friday morning my wife has a facial and a massage scheduled, and my son has an appointment at the Barber at the MGM for a shave and haircut.

Friday lunch after I get back from golf we are planning on going to Julian Serrano at Aria for lunch as we really like the tapas and the Sangria there.

Saturday morning while I am golfing my wife is getting a salon day at Christophe, and my son is getting a massage and facial (it is tough being a college student, lol)

Saturday night we are having an early dinner at Mastro's at Crystals Mall (my wife loves the warm butter cake for dessert, she says it is as good as the Big O), and then the rest of the family is going over to Mandalay Bay for the Journey concert, as my wife and son are both big fans of Journey. This will give me some gambool time as the weekend is so busy I already know I will either have to stay up real late, or sneak in the gambool early before golf.

I was originally going to take my son on a solo 21st birthday trip, but we never had the time. It will be hard to get in 21 st birthday type fun on this trip, but maybe we can sneak out if my wife happens to go to bed early. He also wants me to teach him how to gamble, so that will take up some time as well. It will probably be easiest if I just have him play BJ next to me in the Mansion, and I know they will let him play at lower stakes. Or, he may just flat bet $500 / hand, lol. Also, will have to see how he does as a virgin craps roller!!

We are heading out Sunday morning after breakfast. So, a quick and hopefully fun trip, with some winnings to supplement the weekend trip!

I will update as possible and try to keep it as live as I can!

At Serrano: Try the shrimp salad thing they have on the menu. Its awesome. As is the oxtail wrapped in some sort of swine and served over mash dollops and a demi-glaze!

Sounds like a great trip - well planned. I'm a big fan of the first tee time and playing with nobody in front of me - you're doing it right.

Great 21st for your son too. He's very lucky getting to have the mansion as his first experience.
