I'm sure many already know this, but for those who may not know here is a Vegas taxi fare calculator.
I discovered it while trying to find the fare from Golden Nugget to the TI..

Just scroll down the page in the link and type in the hotel or address and it gives you the fastest route and the current price....

This will compare Lyft, Uber, Taxi. (It doesn't give the whole range of prices like the OP's link; more of the average)
    Very enlightening.

I think Vegas compared to other cities are high on their taxi rates. I might be wrong?

You're not wrong. I'm used to Chicago cab prices and when I take a cab in Vegas in shocked at the price. I only use Uber now...

I am used to NYC prices and a handful of other east coast cities. But I was just in Vegas and I paid $16.50 (reimbursed but for sake of argument) from The Suncoast Casino Hotel to Buffalo Drive exit no more than 2 miles east of The Suncoast tot he medical buildings right behind the KMart there on the highway. Maybe 3 miles tops with the off each exit few turns?? That is expensive. I asked the taxi driver, Lucky Cab, what the coast was from the Suncoast to the Airport, the answer was about $60.00. That is expensive.

I have only used limo's (comp'd) or rented a car in Vegas. Once in awhile we would take a take a short distance on the strip or just off the strip to go to eat but never really thought anything about getting around Vegas. Much more than other cities.
