I'm eight days out. I've had my Vegas mix going non-stop for the past four months. And, in my daily countdown e-mails to this bachelor party group, I've reflected some a bit on my favorite Vegas songs. Put together this list and, since I don't recall that we have a Vegas music thread here yet ... here we go. My Vegas top ten. No. 1 is, I believe, just the quintessential Vegas song. Otherwise? The list is in no particular order.

-- to me, the pinnacle of a Vegas song. A Vegas-born band. A Mormon lead singer who loves to gamble. A bit of a clubbish dance beat. And the chorus is from a Hunter Thompson quote. Perfect.

-- Bring on the dancin' girls and put the champagne on ice. Enough said.

-- Ocean's 11 rediscovered it and Las Vegas the TV show. Works well. Gotta have some Elvis.

-- Just because I like it, and it's totally Vegas-themed.

-- a classy way to call the fickle Lady Luck a slut.

-- The 2013 Club song of the year. Gotta have one on this list in contemporary Vegas.

Viva Las Vegas by ZZ TOP... The video on youtube is pretty cool as it was mostly shot downtown. Not as good as the Elvis version, but unique on its own style.

Also, would the Eagles " Take it to the Limit ",,,,,(one more time) fit in..? People do take it to the limit sometimes with the Vegas excitement. It can't be helped.!!

Nice choice, Tellafriend! It's mellow, but the chorus has it just right. Could be a lesson to many gamblers ... didn't nobody tell you the house always wins?

"The Passenger" by Iggy Pop is playing frequently on my playlist, especially during the actual travel to Vegas. Also "On My Way" by Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso is awesome, I believe it was my also theme song for WSOP on ESPN last year.

    I'm gonna hit the lotto
I'm gonna place my bet on every step I take
Go tell everyone under the sun
    I'm on my way

    Sums it up pretty nicely.
