    Hi Guys,

My wife and I have a trip planned for March '17 but considering moving it up to Superbowl Sunday instead. What's the atmosphere like for this ? Is it worth making the trip or is it just super busy / expensive? Would love to know your experiences.

I went in 2015 and going again for 2017. Table minimums on the strip will be pretty high. I didn't see them comeback to earth until late Monday. I highly recommend booking a table or something at a bar if you're not on the level of getting invited to a casinos private party. Most bars and restaurants will have some sort of game day menu with a possible buffet and drink package. I did Double Barrel Saloon and it was $90 for premium open bar per person. Our minimum spend was $100 per person and we had a reserved table for 2.

Thanks for the advice Bayou, at this stage I have three options, stick with March, move it to Superbowl or move it to early Jan. With the brexit / article 50 issue I'm worried about the FX impact on my bankroll given we've announced we will trigger in March. Me and the wife stay up late to watch the superbowl together so it would be cool to watch it in vegas!

If you don't have an invite to a casino party there's really nowhere to watch the game.

It will be incredibly busy like NYE.

Table mins large. Packed tables. Busy restaurants.

Without casino privileges it's a rough time to be there.

Shifter, I love you buddy, but I have to disagree about "nowhere to watch the game". Last year I was at Aria, and spent the game at Lift Bar (the main lobby VP bar) without a problem. Tons of TVs everywhere, still got all my usual drinks comped, and had a great time. I'll agree, though, that it's very busy and the table minimums will be somewhat higher than usual, though I really didn't find them outlandish. And, full disclosure, I have almost no casino privileges but am on fantastic terms with most of the staff at Aria, which admittedly may have helped.

Thanks Shifter & 44 , I think the degenerate in my coupled with your comments would make me want to either stick with March or move it to January, I think Superbowl is probably off the books. The table min increase is the concern again given a BR crushed by 25-30% by FX.

Lines and the sheer number of bros at the sportsbooks makes the super bowl unappealing. Like Shifter said, if you have an invite to a F&B event, go for it, but the casinos are mobbed and it's hard to place a bet at the book with the bros betting various coin flip and prop bets.

Getting into a non invite party isn't that tough. Plenty of places like Double Barrel Saloon at Monte had a party I went to. I had to buy tickets ahead of time but it was only $200 plus tax and fees for 2 of us. And the $200 went towards F&B spending.

Places like Double Barrel, Gilleys, Blondies, PBR Rock Bar, Margaritaville will all have set ups. Even Tao and Marquee have parties open to the public for a decent price if you're into the clubs.

But everything else I agree with. Crowded, high table min.
