I really intended on attempting a live TR, but I couldn't find the time to start the thread before the trip so a recap will have to do. There have been some great live reports and fantastic recaps of recent trips - I'm certain this one won't measure up. However, the reality that is anything-but-Vegas quickly set back in and this is my way of escaping from the shit-storm that awaited my return.

    First the characters:
Ty Webb Jr - me - name chosen as Caddyshack is my all-time favorite movie and had to add the Jr. as "Ty Webb" was taken on the "other" board. This would actually work out well, because joining me on this trip was...
Ty Webb Sr - my father - seems appropriate to give him the Sr. title and now that he is retired he lives the lifestyle of the Ty Webb in the movie (minus the action with Lacey Underall) - a life of leisure and lots of golf, and he's fun to take to a party.
Danny Noonan - best man in my wedding, best buddy since we were in the 5th grade, a regular on our annual April trip, great guy, funny - everyone wants to be his friend.
Lou Loomis (the caddy master) - one of the original regulars on the annual April trip, lives down the street, drinks the same booze that I do, great guy and life of the party - if he's losing at the track he raises the price of Coke to $0.50.
Al Czervik (to be renamed ILobster on this board if he can ever figure out how to register correctly) - the other original regular on the annual Vegas trip, neighbor, guy who will do anything to help you out when needed, guy most likely to get us thrown out of a casino/bar/restaurant/party for being too much like Al.
Dr. Beeper - newer to the annual April trip (his second), but a super nice guy and willing to roll with whatever the group wants to do.

    Next - the plans...

Had this been a live report, I would have listed the plans/goals for the trip first and would see if I could accomplish them all. I'll list them now and see what I can check off as we go.

    Wednesday
    • Arrive at airport early enough to keep Danny from having a panic attack
    • Sneak booze on the plane to get the drinking started early
    • Eat at Burger Bar at Mandalay
    • Play video poker/craps/poker - win enough to cover the trip expenses
    Thursday
    • Breakfast at Hash House a Go Go
    • Go see the new Park at NYNY/Monte Carlo
    • Get boozy milkshakes at Holsteins
    • Meet @DRPinVa and wife for a drink
    • Dinner at Lotus of Siam
    • Go to Stratosphere and win enough money to fund the rest of the gambling
    • Back to the Flamingo for video poker/craps/poker - win some money
    Friday
    • Breakfast at Hash House a Go Go
    • Pool time
    • Go to MGM for the second @shifter meet up
    • Dinner at the Wicked Spoon Buffet
    • Back to the Flamingo for video poker/craps/poker - win lots of money
    Saturday
    • Pick up rent-a-car - drive to Hoover Dam, actually take the Dam tour this time and get Danny out on the bridge
    • Drop off rent-a-car at the D downtown, visit the Downtown Container park, buy the crew a round of drinks at Oak & Ivy
    • Win lots of money at the El Cortez
    • Dinner at theTriple George Grill
    • Back to the Flamingo for video poker/craps/poker - win lots more money
    Sunday
    • Wake up far too early, catch a 7:00 a.m. flight back to Chicago, sleep on the plane
What's that saying about the best laid plans...

As a Bears season ticket holder and massive fan of all things NFL, I would miss the draft in my home town again.

Also, it would be a little strange being in Vegas during playoff hockey time...

Awesome! Looks like a great agenda to start. Hope it all worked out and you hit everything you wanted to. The Caddyshack motif is absolutely brilliant. What a great movie.

Just remember, gambling is illegal at Bushwood, sir.

If he has any uncashed checks for $75,000 lying around, I'll take one.
