I can't figure out how to get a link into Tapatalk, but management has announced that they're planning to shut down after Labor Day. They're blaming the strike, but that place has been a wreck for years now.

The place is a cave, I bet the workers and management at Bally's are breathing a sigh of relief.

Carl Ichan owns the Tropicana bought up the debt from Trump Entertainment Resorts and became the owner, he pledged a $100 million makover. But State Senate President Steve Sweeney and the representatives in North Jersey wanted to put casinos in Secaucus and Jersey City. There will be a referendum on the ballot in November so the voters will decide. Ichan wanted to wait it out before committing funds to a remodel.

South Jersey is the Garden State but North Jersey is one of the most densely populated areas of the country and has more voters, so it could pass. Lots of temporary Union construction jobs and that's what Sweeney wants. He will probably be the next Governor.

The labor contract ran out in July and the only casino that didn't get an agreement was the Taj, so the workers went out on strike.

And that was what killed them. For years they insisted that they didn't need anything other than gambling, even as they became surrounded by casinos in other states. Vegas resorts make less than 40% of their revenue on gambling, but AC was almost all gambling, yet kept acting like they could maintain that.

I agree. Also agree that the borg, gn, trop, caesars, harrahs and maybe 1 other will be fine (maybe resorts). Also heard rumblings that revel might reopen.

I have an old "friend" that works at ballys currently. She put in for a job at the mgm natl harbor. There have been rumors that hard rock was supposed to buy ballys a few years back. The land that ballys is on is what makes it valuable (park place). Ive heard they have done some remodeling and its picking up but its not what it used to be. I used to play there almost biweekly. I miss the days when it used to be packed and im only 38.

Knife and fork is coming from the old gn, hilton, ach side. What do you think they will do there? Coming into the circle going to AC, they are on the left of the circle. I remember the outside having a knife and fork crossing each other on the walls. Never eatten there but heard it's great and a staple.
