So going to try and do a Semi-Live TR for my upcoming trip to Vegas. I've been many times through the years but this will be the first time I'm going without it being for volunteer work.

I'm flying in Saturday June 4th and should get in around 9-10 PM. I have no hotel booked for Saturday night so will be doing some gambling and getting a little tipsy after I check my baggage somewhere probably PH. I'm staying at Hooters because it was the cheapest hotel I could find due to there being some crazy conventions going on that week.

BR is about $150 a day. So Wish me luck and may the gods of cards and dice shine down upon me.

    Ferrier

First thoughts are no hotel and a 150 bankroll is very scary, but good luck.

Yah while I agree that It's less than I wanted as a bankroll. I'm not interested in putting myself in a bad spot financially. So it's what I can afford to lose. Right now the plan is - Fly in Saturday night. Hit up Planet Hollywood to drop off my bags with the concierge and then go hit up the poker room for most of the night with Saturday and Sunday's session bankrolls. I'm also bringing my Tablet to play on and my ereader with a dozen books to read if things go south. So worse case I'll find a nice quiet spot and relax until my hotel room is ready on Sunday. Sunday plan is to just relax and maybe go play a bit at hooters after I check in and get that. I have a reservation at Craft Steakhouse in MGM for Sunday night (always wanted to eat there big fan of Top Chef and since it's Tom Colicchio's restaurant very much looking forward to it. Monday's plan is to head downtown and check out Freemont Street and play there a bit also want to hit up the Neon Boneyard. Tuesday I have the wedding scavenger hunt all day. Wednesday is hanging out with the boys and doing the Bachelor party and murder mystery dinner. Thursday is the wedding and reception and hanging out with all of the family and friends. Friday I'm back to myself and going to hit up probably Aria / City Center and that area. Saturday is chilling and packing up and heading out. So overall should be a fun trip and I think i'll have plenty to do even if things go south.

I also want to try the dark side of craps this trip so I plan to give that a go if I can find a decent $5 craps table to try. I've been reading up on all kinds of different strategies at all kinds of different games. I'm avoiding normal slots this go around as well which is where I usually lose most of my money after winning at the table games.

This is a perfect articulation of the only way to gamble.

Sounds like a lot of fun activities planned, Ferrier13! You should have no issue finding a $5 dice game downtown to get your feet wet. Have some fun and enjoy it. Even if the gambling goes south, sitting around at the pool reading isn't a bad thing.

That's a great attitude, and don't take my comment the wrong way. I'm not knocking you. I've been to Vegas with much smaller daily bankrolls, I'm just saying I know my current limitations and without a room things could get ugly in a hurry lol. Sounds like you have a good plan.
