    Hi all!

If this isn't my first post, it's certainly one of them. I have been reading since the beginning, but am definitely more of a lurker than a poster. That being said, my wife and I are going to Las Vegas March 2 - March 9 which is quickly becoming a crazy busy couple of days out there (UFC 210, Blake Shelton Concert, Basketball Tournaments etc).

I had previously reached out to a host who frequents a different board after being unable to get any response booking rooms at the hotel we wanted. I am posting this question on this board both because many of the posters deal with hosts regularly and also that host doesn't seem to post or frequent this board. Despite certainly not playing to the level of a host (Combine 1k a day bankroll), he reached out, gave me a great rate for 4 nights and comped 3 nights up front. He explained that since it will be about a year in between visits he wasn't sure if we would have offers, but even offered to adjust the rates further if we do. Since then he has been extremely responsive to every email I sent and has everything locked in despite rates constantly going up (our rate is about 450 all in for the 7 days, and my parents who are coming out are nearly 1300 for 4 days).

I would like to get or give him something to show my appreciation for his work, but I don't want it to come across as though we expect him to be our host or that we want him to take more off at the end, which he offered to evaluate.

Basically I feel like we are getting great service and a great comp deal, but since there is more owed, I don't want the tip to feel like a bribe. If anyone can recommend what to give (if cash dollar amount) and also when to give it to make it clear that this is a thank you for what he did not a request for more i would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks!

A $100 gift card/Visa card or the like would be more than sufficient to show your gratitude. I wouldn't consider more. But, if you only wanted to do $50 it would likely be appreciated just the same. Don't do lower than that though.

I asked my host where his favorite place to eat in Vegas is and its at MGM so I am giving him a gift card for there. Probably 200 (maybe more) since he is comping 5 days at Bellagio for us. He is a host at Mirage.
