There seems to be a lot of jealousy here lately. Why is that?

I've read plenty of comments recently like "rich and snotty" or "stick your comp up your ass." We all are here because we love VEGAS. Right?

If someone gets a comped suite or comped dinner, it's because they earned it or the casino sees them as a good customer who will possibly lose lots of money to them.

As people age and generally earn more, the $5 bet they once used to make doesn't provide the same juice to them after playing higher denominations. This may also mean moving from $100 bets to Honda Civics.

I'm far from rich, but I too have "earned" free rooms and food. If I posted about this and somebody thought I was snotty, they are a fool. Perhaps they need to be schooled on how comp systems work. They too could probably get free stuff.

Bottom line is I love reading trip reports from the Mansion as well as reports from the Golden Gate. It's all Vegas.

And this is not to say I don't enjoy the ball busting posts because I do.
    Just don't understand the jealousy.

Sorry this post is kind of is all over the place but I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

Great post and I agree. The only time I'm truly jealous is when people are in Vegas and I'm not. I know so many people who will never get to experience Vegas even once so I'm not about to get upset cause I only go twice a year while others can go every month.

As for comps we know nothing is truly free. I'm sure we'd all love to have 10x the disposable income but that's not the way things work. Everyone has their own version of Vegas and that's what makes the city so great. Options and experiences for everyone.

I have to agree with you JV, even so far as, while I am jealous the same as you that people can go more often than I, I am also really thankful that so many of them take us along with reports. I also look at it that if they could not go that much, I still would not be able to go that often or afford some of the better suites, so what difference does it make either way to my situation whether they can go more often or afford better suites or higher gambling limits than I can.

I've never gotten anything free or any comps...and I have zero jealousy. I don't go there enough or gamble enough when I'm there to get anything. I love reading about everyone else and their trips and I live vicariously through the trip reports...OK wait I lied, Like davis646 said I am totally jealous when people are in Vegas and I'm not LOL!

Anytime you blend 80% good civilized people with 20% uncivilized anarchists who strive to be uncivilized social deviates and extremely critical of others while hiding behind their keyboards, negativity in various forms arises. I've finally learned it is not worth it...I'll just be a lurker..

For some reason the jealousy tends to disappear when the said rich and snotties shutdown for the trip after being down 6 figures. I know it can raise an eyebrow at first to learn that someone's 1 bet/chip is more than what you earn in a month or a year. I've been there. But after all, it's all relative. I could say that my low roller BR could buy a village in Africa (no disrespect to anyone) and I could be a fucking king there. It's all relative.

The good thing about Vegas is that it caters all sort of bankrolls to a certain amount of luxury. And like I've said in another thread, gambling doesn't require massive bets, whatever you bet and if you get the thrills and excitement of it, that's enough. After all I'm sure we all know that in the long run we're all losers, so betting smaller and getting kicks out of it is a good thing. Pretty sure I can speak on natedog's behalf and say that he would be more than happy to bet $25 a hand if he got the same thrills out of it than what he usually bets. In my opinion, bet sizes is nothing to be jealous of, it's actually just the opposite. The bigger the bets, the more expensive those thrills become.

That all being said, I wouldn't mind sticking some cucumbers into class A hookers pussies in a nice bungalow but I still think we are all part of a group that a huge load of people would be jealous of, we get to visit Vegas frequently. We are all privileged. Being from Europe myself, half of my friends wished they had the money to travel there but they don't. A good reminder that we're all part of a selected group of people.

PS. You self-centered rich fucking bastards, I'm checking into Cosmo in 33 days, leave some money for me at the cage. IT'S ONLY ONE OF YOUR CHIPS! ;)
