There used to be one at Palazzo who would dance when a point was hit.

A good stick can really help enhance the game

Agreed, a good one can make the game a lot of fun, and a bad one can kill it. Had a bad one recently at a local casino I don't usually go to and soured me on the whole place. Probably not fair of me, but it was an awful experience.

Back in 2013, I had a few good sessions at Luxor where CJ was the stick man. When someone rolled a 9, he would play the craps stick like a guitar and sing "Nine, nine, nine, nine" over and over again. Fun times.

No doubt. If they're rushing the dice out, not making clear calls and just being an overall salty ass it can make the game suck.

I had one at the local place refuse to move so I could have a clear lane to throw the dice. I like to stand stick left one and the dealer was hovering over the table a bit so when my arm would go through the motion it would cross into her "area". First throw almost hit her. Second throw the same and then she said something to me about not crossing into that area.

I'm like - where do you want my arm to go? So I eventually colored up and moved tables. She was new and the box must've said something because they asked me to come back over. I'm cool with the dealers at this place and tip well so she was costing them tokes.

Sigh, I learned craps this weekend at Cosmo - played for hours. Sadly, i had a total opposite experience.

One dealer (and stickman) was a total ass! I was fairly drunk, but not too bad, and he was really impatient when I'd ask a question.

I'm not dumb, was being nice and tipping, but he was a douche. He acted like I was a moron because I couldn't remember every detail and needed to ask something now and again. I thought I was doing pretty good. I was so pissed, but I loved Heather, another one who was super helpful and patient.

I was determined to learn. I would not let him cause an awful experience. I tried talking with him, smiling, joking, but he was just an asshole. I stayed because I stubbornly refused to let him win I eventually gave up on him being even respectful, let alone friendly and blatantly turned my back an ignored him. Highlight was when I (you know, the idiot newbie chick) recognized he underpaid a winning bet! Ha, take that fucker!

In the end, I left ahead after many hours of play. Glad I said fuck him and stayed. Although, I'll probably avoid any table he's at in the future.

I love fun dealers! Hope someone has a good story :)

I love craps lingo and get into character when I'm at the table. I also like to "be in charge" of my tips when I play. When you place a tip and you don't ask to be in charge of it, if the bet wins, they drop the tip and the win leaving nothing on the table for the dealer to win on future rolls. Therefore you need to tip them again if you want them to be up on that bet for future rolls.

Last September my buddy and I were playing craps after a long day of watching football. I spread the hardways for the dealer and called out "I'll be in charge." Stick calls back, "players in charge!"

A hardways comes up and he looks at me for what to do and I yell out, "double it up and drop the gravy!" Meaning, double up the original bet and drop what's left over in the toke box. The stickman gets a funny look on his face, looks over at the pit and says, "Hey, what does 'drop the gravy' mean?" in a quiet and rather hushed tone.

Hearing this, my buddy and I both doubled over and burst out laughing... probably a direct result of the booze we'd been ingesting all day. And, it became the running joke for the rest that weekend.

Well that sucks! Sometimes a crew will have a real asshole on it. I tip them well so if I run across a jerkoff I like to slide my bets out the using my middle finger hoping they catch on.

Cool that you learned and played the game though. They should be receptive to new players!
