What happened to (working a part time job) paying your way through college?
What happened to starting an apprenticeship at lower wages?
What happened at affording a home/vacation?

Wherever you turn... people are entitled.

My fav is that a friend's son said it was rude for a prospective employer not to call him back.....since he had already called once to inquire about a job.

I'll give you no argument about the fact that there are plenty of entitled pieces of shit out there. But the "young" generation certainly doesn't hold a monopoly on these types. Not by a long shot. They learned it from someone after all - they sure didn't invent the participation trophy or grade-less class.

Now, if you want to talk about the constantly offended generation...yeah, the youngsters have taken that to a whole new level.

You can't pay your way through college working a $8 an hour job while attending a $50k a year college.

    Actually, you can......

My best friend went to Ohio State in the early 90s. It cost him close to $200k to finish.
He is a dentist now. He had a part time job working for me in the summer.

I know it wasn't easy to cough up that kind of money (loans) but over time.....he paid it back.

It's kinda relevant to the statement I made, that's why I was asking. But good for him. I have a few friends that have 6 figure debts and student loan payments that are equivalent to a mortgage, it's insane.

College isn't for everyone. Military or Trade school can be a good option. I know military was great for me. Just a thought.
