I can't wait to go back to Carbone in February. Those croutons on the Caesars salad are incredible. The Parm, the rigatoni, everything is so good. Great report, hope you can win some back.

Awesome pics. I would have given you props if you skipped mains and went straight for another double-fisting cocktail session.

All the Carbone pics from the past year or so have made me add it to my list for February. Think it's going to be the leadoff dinner of that trip. Just looks so quality.

Carbone is amazing. Every time I go I get so drunk by the time the meal comes I can barely remember it though.

    LOL!

The final tally on gambling was -6k. My host had me at -6800 so someone missed (or was nice and overlooked) one of my cashouts. Anyways I did talk to the host who had it just as I figured. 600 in comp credit for the four nights in the room. My theo was 600 worth just over 200 in comps. BUT. Thanks to my hellacious bad luck I got the "10% of your losses" slaughter rule invoked so an extra $80 in comp credit for me. Yay? It never hurts to ask right?

I didn't get hours and average bet info but I can back calculate it when I get home.

Time for breakfast at the B buffet.

    Trip Report Recap:

Hello again and welcome to the recap of our trip! If any lurker on the boards is thinking about doing a trip report, you should go for it! For me, keeping up with the report made the trip more interesting and gave me motivation to take pictures of the stuff we did. I’m usually pretty bad about taking pictures. We had a great time and I'm glad you guys thought it was fun to ride shotgun with us.

    Stuff that was awesome:

Seeing family during the Los Angeles leg of our trip

Showing the entourage (“A,” “D,” and “J”) a good time in Vegas

    Carbone

    Prime

    Javier’s

    Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s

    Fizz at Caesar’s

The dealers and pit bosses at the Bellagio, especially at pai gow tiles and the BJ tables in the high-limit area

Our Salone suite – I'll be honest, if it was in Vegas solo I'd sleep on the floor in a linen closet. However, when you are with your special someone, you need to step up your game. These suites are perfect for a couple looking to have a nicer experience for something like a honeymoon, birthday, or anniversary trip. Mrs. Tesla gives the jacuzzi tub two thumbs up!

Aria Café – our new go-to for a sit down meal when we’re looking for something casual

Lucky Dragon casino – if you want to low roll baccarat and eat Asian food, it’s definitely worth the Lyft or cab ride.

Lucky Dragon tea service – plan for this to take some time but it’s a great and relaxing way to spend some time.

    Stuff that was meh:

Poker – I broke even two sessions and lost the third. That was my own fault for going on tilt, although to my credit I got up and left when I realized I was. I need to work on playing later in the day too. Playing against the local nits in the afternoon isn’t the way to make money.

Pai Gow – I couldn’t get anything going with the tiles. It’s still a really fun game to play and a great option when you are trying to preserve your bankroll. The dealers are good at giving newbies advice (special props for Wynnie, an Asian lady who deals on graveyard shift) and I perfected the “Hong Kong Bank” shuffle with a little help from them.

    Bellagio Buffet

Bellagio Café - Mrs.Tesla and I have decided not to eat here anymore until it gets a “refresh,” especially with the Aria café being a 10 minute walk away

Housekeeping at the Bellagio – we had problems getting the room restocked with soaps, etc., and Mrs. Tesla found a stain on our sheets that we didn’t notice the first night. They didn’t give us fresh sheets after the first phone call but did after the second.

    Stuff that was WTF:

My host at the Bellagio. Like I said in the intro, I get that I’m nowhere close to a high roller so I don’t take it personally that he can’t do much for me. But I never got that extra $80 in comp credit that he promised me before I checked out. He had three hours between our conversation and my checking out, and it didn’t happen. If you say you are going to do something, you should do it, especially when all it takes is a quick phone call or note in the computer. I’m not going to name him publicly, but I’ll either be in the market for a new host on my next trip (and would gladly take recommendations from any Bellagio regulars) or maybe I’ll move my CL to a different MGM property (like the Mirage) and stay somewhere else.

Blackjack – I played heads up a lot on this trip, and that cranked my variance through the roof. As you all know that's a double edged sword, and I got the bad edge on Wednesday night when $4k evaporated in less than two hours. It’s gone the other way for me before though, so it's not like I didn't know what I was getting into, but wow....

Anyways, it's 7AM on Saturday morning here on the east coast, and that means it's time to unpack and do the laundry, hit the grocery store to get the fridge restocked, and get ready to watch the Pats/Texans game tonight! It's nice to have two days to ease back into the real world. Take care everyone!
