I'll admit it. I stayed there a few times my first few years going to Vegas. Now I just don't get it. I always wanted to say this on the other board but didn't want to offend the Flamingo lovers...the place is a dump! It's run down as hell, can't stand the smell, I always hear the elevators are broke etc. I won't even go in there now.
When is CET going to bite the bullet and redo the historic place with the perfect location?

 

Agree that it is a shithole.

 

I stayed there on my first trip to Vegas in 2004 and a couple other times throughout the years. Agree it's kind of dumpy / not my scene but I think it serves it's purpose with the frugal and older (?) crowds. The renovated rooms are decent (go ones). Never had issues with the elevators though have read a lot of complaints

 

I doubt any time soon.

they're stuck in the mud over there in more ways than you know.

they need a good house cleaning and some new blood in there starting at the top to get some pride back in the company.

 

This is why I remain so surprised that they were able to makeover the Imperial Palace. I think they've hit the credit bucket a few too many times and with pretty bad timing....doubtful they can dip into that again very soon.

 

Flamingo holds a special place in my heart as it was the first place I ever got comped. First w2 etc, but I will agree it's getting run down. When the GO Rooms first came out it was a glimmer of hope, but after the brutal half assed renovation of the FAB rooms, it's disappointing. The GO Rooms are now aging and there's not much hope in sight. That being said, their pool is still one of my favs and a great party on weekends. I do like the margaritaville casino and had some luck, with great drink service in their VP area by the poker room. Not sure if they have knocked down their pay tables on them there, but my guess is they have. The hooker bar Bugsys is usually entertaining, especially when one ugly one won't leave @Gaggles alone!

 

I think you could make that statement about half the CET resorts. I'm not a fan of the brand.

 

It is funny just people watching at Bugsy's Bar. Very entertaining watching the pro's circle the place with phones in hand.

 

I say teardown the Flamingo, and Harrah's while they are at it

 

It was a sad day when McHa$$ah'$ took out Park Place/Caesars.
