Was it the Journal that recently had a piece on swearing and intellect? It essentially said all those notorious swearing sailors are geniuses.

I played with a priest at Bandon last fall. His bud/parishioner keep on calling him padre and el jefe and Father Frank (and fuck nut and whatever else), and finally I asked, "So, Frank, wtf do you do for a living?"

    "I'm a priest."

    "No shit?"

    "No shit."

Apparently Frank came to the cloth later in life after some colorful stints. He said he'd worked it out with the big guy that so long as no one dropped a "JC" or "GD," all was good.

Growing up, as a teenager and even through college, swearing was deemed rude, immature, and unprofessional. As an adult, I hear more professionals swearing than any other age group. I think as an adult and/or professional, you earned your right to swear...lol.

Not by me, swearing doesn't bother me. You missed the point. Yankees wasn't saying GOP doesn't swear. He's just saying they don't get a free pass.

I didn't miss the point at all. Just not something I've seen in my experiences.
